The Gators defense may go down as one of the best in the history of college football.In 2006 through the first 4 games they gave up 34 or 8.5 a game , this year they have given up 29 or 7.25 a game
In 2006 there was not much of a running game.This year Demps ,Rainey, and Moody have carried 65 times for 656 yards over 10 yards a carry. The offense has scored 182 an ave of over 45 a game. I listed the 3 running backs and did not list tebow.
They are 2 deep on defense as all 22 played last year.In Spikes, Dunlap, Cunningham and Haden you have 4 potential all americans on defense
If they have to go with Brantley he would be the # 5 rated QB in the country with an efficiency rating of 182, which is higher than Tebow's. His main WR Deonte Thompson , who missed games 3 and 4 with a hamstring injury is 100%, so they will have their 3 top WR
I have a feeling you might see Brantley start and if healthy they might bring in Tebow like they did in 2006 where he threw for 3 TD against LSU in 5 attempts.as a freshman
The defense knows it might have to step it up if Tebow can't play and I feel Spikes will have them sky high
Also the Gators under Meyer are 28-3 after a bye week
