Roger that!
The Bama/Texas game will be closer than people think. Bama 49 Texas 3
Step - I appreciate that...Good Luck this week...I know the support for Cuse and the line may be elevated due to the surprise upset win of Lou. Was that a sign that Cuse is turning the corner, or was Lou just not prepared. What is the basis of your support for UCONN...CCSU is a marginal FCS program, and Utah State is honestly not very good either. With Babers on the warm seat, his history at Bowling Green where he would demolish teams. I know UCONN has the true freshman QB with a chip on his shoulders, yada, yada, yada...Why prima facie due you believe that UCONN can keep it under the number?

@LonghornHoosier
my guy...he coached at BG for two years. has now been at syracuyse for 6...what ever he did at bowling green has no bearing on this contest, he hasnt been there for ever...
I would put more stock in his road performances over the L3 seasons rather than whatever he did at BG with their best team ever.

Syracuse 2016-2021 (Babers Tenure) 4-1-0 ATS as a road favorite and 15-11-0 ATS as a road dog...that's 19-11-0 or 62% ATS Coverage on the road...Not bad...Yes, the Purdue lookahead at home...but, considering potential recruiting implications, focus on cutting down on the 18 penalties against Lou, and ramping up their D, to potential upset Purdue...I don't anticipate a let down...Babers has had losing seasons on 5 of his 6 seasons at Syracuse...and again, he is on the warm seat...He is not a position to relax and be soft on a well coached but young UCONN team...Is BDC possible, sure...Assuming Syracuse gets up big then rests key players...UCONN will continue to fight, and the BDC is always a risk with this chalk...I just see Syracuse wanting to leverage the upset against Lou, pummel UCONN, and get ready for a fight with Purdue in week 3...In 2021, week 3, they were a 22 point fave at home against FCS Albany. They won 62 to 24...a 38 point cover....

@LonghornHoosier
true...but this year's UCONN team might be 17 points better than last year's...still might result in a frustrating UCONN loss, or it could be a 14 point game with UCONN possessing the ball in the 4th quarter with a chance to make it a game...
after all this is syracuse. regarding the ATS metrics, i went back and looked. i cannot recall seeing syracuse as a 4 TD road favorite, ever...when was the last time? i just dont see it in this matchup with how UCONN held up in the trenches each of the last two weeks.

@steponaduck
As you say UCONN may be 17 points better, so may Syracuse, especially with the new found confidence of the resounding victory over Louisville. Syracuse has the best running game in the ACC, and the 3rd best OLine. And before Do you honestly think that CCSU (my wife's alma mater) and Utah State were any comparison to what they will see against Syracuse on Saturday. How are they going to stop Sean Tucker? He got almost 100 yards against Lou as did Shrader ...Will he get 300 against UCONN? And with Shrader's improved passing ability, how is UCONN going to stop that or slow it down? He threw for almost 250 yards against Lou, 2 TDs and no INTS.
The only way I see a UCONN cover is if Syracuse for whatever reason are focussed on Purdue, and think they will just show up and win, full of themselves for upsetting and dominating Lou and thinking they are back...These guys have lost a lot, and I want to believe that they are hungry, that they want to kick the crap out of a bad team, with young players, and a new HC, new coordinators. Syracuse did beat UCONN 51 to 21 in 2018, Babers 3rd year. Even the backups will play hard and want to score...This is a complete rebuild at UCONN, and their relative success is a mirage, in my opinion. If you took note of UCONN's relative improvement, I image Babers and his staff have as well.
Sure, UCONN could cover...and I imagine if they do, it will be within 5 points of the current 22.5...Steele had this game capped at Syracuse -17 at East Hartford, so I get the value play and the slightly inflated line. And this is a somewhat rivalry game, so that could bring the emotions for the dog. However, I just can not phathom that with all the loosing that Syracuse has done recently, that they would risk losing that momentum against a team where they should be able to name their score...He will take note of the Georgia's and Bama's of the world, and get his team pumped up to beat down a bad team, perhaps pitch a shut out, to further enhance its momentum. TaQuan Roberson the 4 star transfer from Penn State was suppose to have a positive impact on UCONN with Mora's infusion. But, he got injured the week before the first game.
I know I sound like a tout...;) I am not...I predominately play favorites, so I have defend them in my mind prior to selection, and discount them and exclude them from my card. If this Syracuse team does not beat this UCONN team by 25+ I will be surprised, and to me that will indicate that Syracuse will have yet another losing season...We can agree to disagree on this one. Good luck on your other picks!

I appreciate your take. Thank you. However, Cuse has done enough losing under Babers that it can’t afford to take any opponent lightly, even with Purdue on desk. I think Cuse gets off to a big first half lead, then coasts…Sure a BDC is always possible, but I will take my chances. Good luck this week!

Peace - I think so...Just need to keep up the heat, even with the backups. Potential stat game for Tucker. Hopefully, no lookahead or BDC. GL to this week!
