that score is a bit deceiving...this was a 6 point game at the end of the 3rd qtr....then ecu opened it up late on 2int return td's and another garbage return td late....ec was +3 to margin in the game...final score doesn't quite tell the whole story there....just some thoughts
Unfortunately football games are 4 quarters long, not 3. That said, the anemic ECU offense from 2009 had 400 yards of offense in the 1st half against this defense...there will be 3 freshman on the defensive side of the ball this year for Tulsa.

Lu- much respect for you in your area of expertise and while Tulsa's D appears to be very porous I just think that ECU will have a a rough take-off in McNiells' first season wanting to open things up. Especially if the Hurricane D-line spearheads their spread-busting 3-3-5.
I do beg to differ about Tulsa's (offensive) horses however their O-line is going to have to grow up quick. On the contrary the Pirate's front on D is not too intimidating...
I have Tulsa (-7) and would love to see that line move to 10 (middle) 10.5...
I'd be all about the Over (60.5 currently) if this weren't the season opener

For the record, gentlemen. My play is locked in at +7 currently for 2 units. I will make a 1 unit ML play before this game begins for the Pirates to win the ball game straight up.
+7 for 2 units (currently....will add another unit if it gets to 10)
ML for 1 unit before the kick

Train, gun to my head I'm on the over. ECU's #1 offense put up nearly 700 yards of offense and 7 touchdowns in their last scrimmage. They looked crisp, quick, and talented all over the place. Tulsa is going to have an extremely tough time matching up with these guys.
Same goes for Tulsa. They've got explosive receivers as well. ECU's corners are much more talented than Tulsa's. Both Pirate corners are NFL material. Tulsa will still put points on the board. I expect them to run the ball more than they have in the past...but I still expect points.
I'm liking a high scoring game in this one with both teams in the mid to high 30's before the final tick falls off the clock.

GL Lu! I loved your ECU posts last year as I don't follow the team personally. Did tail a lot of your advice on them and won more than I lost. Thanks for those last year and here's to a great new year!

I know he's a WR. He's in the hunt, but he's not going to start. He's a gamer, no doubt about it. He actually reminds me of a guy who used to play for ECU named Bobby Good. Bobby always made the clutch catches. Blue collar, go out there, make a play for your team. When Bodenhiemer is in the game...when all the chips are on the table...he's the guy I want the ball going to.
That said, Womack is going to get the nod over Andrew in terms of who starts on Sunday against Tulsa. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Bodenhiemer will get lots of PT. ECU is going to be rolling receivers in and out of the line-up in a ridiculously quick tempo offense. ECU is nearly 20 deep at WR. None of them suck.
Womack, however, is a beast.
