Texas Tech   should make the Top 30 in the next go around
 
Iowa     Solid team..Losing Both DT's could be the Hawkeyes downfall
 
Cincinnati   Offense should be amazing... Defense almost loses everyone
 
BYU       Max Hall should put up monster Numbers
 
Arkansas    should be a Major Jump in 2009
 
Miami      still Young and getting better but so is the rest of the ACC..still one of my favorite teams to fade
 
West Virginia     Jarrett Brown gets his chance ...
 
Minnesota      might be a ML DOG bread winner in 2009
 
Stanford     Suprise ... the Cardinal will pull 3 or 4 upsets this year
 
Houston      should run it up vs most of CUSA
 
Vanderbilt      returning so much from 2008...But the SEC is so Tough
 
Illinois      can't wait to jump on the bandwagon and then jump off just as fast

QB TJ Yates is back after starting 6 Games and Playing in 7 last year ... Injured his Ankle vs VA Tech and missed the next 5 before returning vs NC ST, Duke and the Bowl Game ... TJ Completed 60% of his passes for 1,168  11 TD's and 4 INTS ...Even with the WR's gone from LY I think Yates will have a breakout year in 2009...
Mike Paulus 6-5 215 So. saw limited action in 2008 and was higg recruit in 2007 PS#8...
Branden Hanson 6-6 195  was one of Butch Davis's top recruits last year PS#11....
Plenty of depth at QB
 
 
RB    Shaun Draughn ran for 866 Yards (4.4) ...playing in all 13 games Shaun was named the starter at TB for the Final 6...
Ryan Houston is a 6-2 245+LB monster avg 3.9 YPC on 77 carries and scored 8 TD's in 2008
needless to say Houston is a very good short yardage/ change of Pace Back...
FB Bobby Rome is a brusing FB at 5-11 250+
Anthony Elsy is nice pass catcher out of the backfield at either FB or HB...
Jamal Womble should see the field as a Red-shirt FR...

Rashad Mason is a 6-5 SO. who should have plenty of chances to make plays in 2009

Todd Harrleson RD-FR has a nice combo of Speed and Hands
Joshua Adams FR 6-4... is a top recruit this year and could not only see the field as a TRue FR. but should be a Playmaker in 09"
TE Zack Pianalto suffered some injuries last year but is helthy for the Spring and might have a breakout year in 2009...

USC          Reloading .... Should lose 1+ Games , but which ones ??? 
 
Florida       So Much coming Back .. did they get "FAT" on the banquet circuit ??? How can I not have them #1 ???
 
Virginia Tech    Love the Hokies this year... But getting a Team to the NC from the really tough ACC seems to hard...
 
Texas       Should beat Oklahoma again ... Should be 11-1 or better
 
Ole Miss       Love Houston Nutt... O-Line has some ???  the Rebels won't sneak up on anyone this year... DE Hardy needs to be 100%
 
Alabama     I was not a Fan of JP Wilson... Saban's boys are loaded.. We will find out alot in Week 1 vs Va Tech... another team with some O-Line concerns
 
Oklahoma    I am not a Fan of Stoops... seems to choke in the Big/Bowl games.... O-Line will be the Key to the Sooners season ... thinking they might lose 2 Games ??

We can see VA. Tech losing 3 games.  Alabama, UNC, and Georgia Tech can all beat them.  Their QB is very injury prone, and if he goes down, the team does not win the ACC.  Even if he plays healthy, Va. Tech's offense is still going to be Beamer boring.

Yeah The Hokies should lose 2+ Games this year but they might be able to play with anyone in the Country in the right spots..

The Offense should be Ball control with the running game leading the way ...

I Like the schedule and I am a big Fan of Beamer's (usually)

If Rutgers loses more than 3 games this year with the god awful schedule we have, i will be disappointed.  The Big East is so wide open its not funny.  Cincy loses all of it's Defense, WV has no Pat White, Pitt lost McCoy, USF chokes down the stretch, Uconn lost Brown, and of course Rutgers loses almost all of its passing game.

Also it appears 5th year senior Dom Natale will be the starter for Rutgers after creating some separation between him and the rest of the QB's in the spring.

Good post.  Rutgers plays a non-con schedule that out local high school team could handle, including 2 FCS teams.  They also get Cincy, Pitt, USF, and West Virginia at home.  It simply can not get any easier than that and be legal.  3 losses should get the coach fired with that schedule.  With a strong RB duo in Young and Brooks, and a pretty good offensive line, Rutgers should be able to control the games offensively.  Defensively, they should be O.K, but must work on the secondary.

Personally think we win the Bama game. I wouldnt want to be Saban having a QB making his first start against our defense. Atleast T-Mobile has a couple years under his belt. Key to our success is his damn ankle. Returning every receiver and added a back in Ryan Williams that will make this team explosive. If you people think VT will lose at home on a Thursday night to UNC you are sadly mistaken. I beg everyone to go to a Thursday Night game in Lane Stadium. It's an experience that you cant really find elsewhere

I really like your Boys this year ... they do have 4+ hard games but the Hokies do have an excellent chance at making it to the NC Game ... Beating Bama in week 1 would be a great start....

I would give the Kokies as much as 6.5 Pts for HF vs UNC

I would love some insight from you on the Hokies ... I will be Posting my team Breakdown soon ... just have been so busy with Family/Baby  stuff....

Rutgers will be fine and is my Pick to win the Big East ... The Con.f is really up in the air this season but i feel Schiano will have them in the right spot in the right time ...

RB  Legarrette Blount is a beast at 6-2 240+...7.3 YPC and 1,002 rushing yards last year teaming with the now Gon Johnson to form the shcools first 1000 Yard duo....
 
 
WR
Aaron Plufgard 5-10 175 looked like Masoli's favorite target this spring grabbing 6-107...
Former top recruit at USC  Jamere Holland is the Fastest player on the team ...
Jeff Maehl returns after catching 39 balls and 5 TD's
Lavasier Tuinei is a Transfer that shoudl step right in and make plays as he did in the Spring
Ed Dickson is a Fantastic option at TE 35-508  3 TD and should catch 50+ this year and should end up being an early pick in next years NFL draft
 
 
O-Line   here is where the Problems start
The First team O-Line got beat bad at times in the Spring game and Kelly and his staff need to find the Right Combination fast with a Trip coming to Boise in week 1
 
 
 
 


Pflugrad announced friday he is transferring.....
Kelly did not renew his father's contract (duck assistant)....
either that or some have guessed he would have been beaten out by more physical WRs .... (he is 5-10, 175 ish)
interesting sidenote....at one time he was recruited/considering Boise......and might have gone there if dad not with ducks...
he also might have returned punts...

Oregon is a very unsettled tem right now.  Their coaching seems to be up in the air.  Their defense has never been good.  There is way too much uncertainty on this team to be opening at Boise.  If they lose that game, who knows where the season goes from there.  Oregon has not lost a season opener in 4 years, and it is hard to figure out how this team will rebound, if they lose to Boise State, especially with Utah and Cal coming to town after a one week breather against Purdue.

Don't know if that was towards me but, 1st off Bi, I said the game was for the division title, NEVER said they lose. But, I would take the 6.5 pts def if the Heels were getting 6.5.


However, I will just add, that if the Backup College eagles can win there, the Heels have a shot. The Hokies have a much  better O this yr though IMO, so the D will not be able to steal a game like the Eagles did LY.
