JImmy Clausen made a Big Jump in 08.. throwing for 25 TD's but he will need to cutdown on the INTS 17...
 
Some nice targets include Golden Tate 58-1080 10 TD's...Malcom Floyd 48-718 7 TD's.... TE Kyle Rudolph should have a breakout year after 29-340 in 08"
 
The Irish are switching to a 4-3 and new D-Line coach Randy Hart has plenty of young Prospects to work with ...

Iowa fan, but...Iowa has to be considered top 25,,,16  starting players return on each side of the ball, including a poised QB Stanzi, who improved weekly, and last years sub, FR RB Jewell Hampton, who reminds many of departing 1st team All American RB Shon Greene, only faster.  Hampton is a monster.  Iowa did lose Kraul and King, two excellent DT, but almost everyone else returns.  Oh, BTW, it was FUN to watch them DESTROY SEC S. Carolina.  LOL

still waiting on bigdaddy's response to your 4 million in winnings last year.  maybe a little of a strech. really looking forward to the rest of your top 25, really do appreciate all the work you do, this will be the most knowledgeable thread i've ever seen on covers. nvm the squares that come in here and don't understand why the forseen favorite isn't getting the win on your charts. i'm gonna be a huge fan of these four teams next year, texas, va tech, oregon, and ole miss (and might as well throw in the gators as well). can't wait for the rest

they do have 4 tough road games

at PSU, at Ohio St, at MSU and AT Wisky ....

they will have to win atleast 2 of those 4...

I Might just have them ranked 21-23 ...

Man the more I look at Iowa I might have to let them slip a Bit ...

I think the DT's were a major reason why the defense was so good ...

The Key is the game at Michigan St. ....who ever wins that on should finish 3rd in the BIG 10... MSU also draws PSU at home ...

I might have spoke to soon and Iowa could end up 31-34 on my Early rankings

QB Brian Hoyer is gone , but so what he stunk anyway IMO ...only completing 51%  throwing for 9 TD's- 9 Ints..  costly sacks(21) at key times... Kirk Cousins looked like the better to me and the stats say it as well completing 74.4% ..  
Keith Nicol is back in his home State after transfering from Oklahoma
 
RB Javon Ringer is Gone ... So Andre Anderson and AJ Jimmerson will need to fill that Huge void...
 
The top 3 WR's return Dell, White and Cunningham..TE Charlie Grant should play a Bigger role after catching 4 TD;s last year
 
The O Line losses the RT and RG but everyone else returns
 
8 Starters return on Defense
 
DE Trevor Anderson should be a Monster this year
 
The LB's look great with Jones,Decker and Gordon all returning ...
 
The secondary only has one loss team leader Otis Wiley...

Notre Dame should be #1

I'll be surprised if they don't finish in the top 10 for real.

As for MSU I have them losing to Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Penn State maybe Illinois

I think they actually win 8, I think they win one or two of these games.  7 8 probably right actually.

Rankings are way too early right now though

Don't see them losing to Pitt or Stanford.  Virtually the same team returning for ND, no McCoy shouldn't have a problem.  He killed them in the second half last year.  Stanford, too much talent I think it will be a decent game but not too close.  Think ND wins by a touchdown.  The only game I have them losing is the USC game, but hey anything can happen.  USC has a shitload of talent.  Game is at N.D. can the Irish beat USC finally?  Honestly think this is their best shot since the Leinart/Bush fiasco.  USC is going to have a brand new QB under center.  Lose all starting linebackers 3 1st round early 2nd round players.  Thats hard to replace, I know I know probably someone just as good behind him.  I'll take experience and talent over just talent.  So with that being said, a lot of experience think the Irish keep it close.  I'm really excited about this team bro, I don't see them losing more than 1 or 2 games.  Then I'll bring my prediction thread back up from my drunkin rant after the UNC loss last year.

Although the Running game plays second fiddle Jake Sharp ran for 860 Yards(4.6) 12 TD's ... Jake also caught 25 Balls ...

you make some good points for 11-1 or better...

But The Irish have me a little worried ...the Syracuse Loss is still fresh in my mind...

 If they lose anyone of the first 5 games things could turn ugly ...

Michigan and Michigan St. are the only teams I see having a chance to knock them off in those 5... Huge Game for Rich Rod in week 2 ... Might be hard for the Irish to play Huge in both games ...

As a Notre Dame Fan you could not have asked for a better schedule (other than USC)... Playing both Washington schools is easy money ...

Right now what do you think The Books will make Notre Dame's season win Total ????

C.J. Spiller (5.4) should have a fantastic year after splitting time with Davis last year
