Lets look at the two decent defenses he faced.

Ohio st. 12-20 121yds. 6.1 avg.- If pryor doesn't fumble they probably lose.

Iowa - 9-23 86yds 3.7 avg. and the duck pass that was intercepted down the middle.

There's the real story.

everyone seems so concerned about the usc loss to oregon state but what about penn state's loss to iowa?  in many ways that's pretty bad.  i like usc in what is really a home game to pull away late and win by couple of TDs.

If I learned anything the last few years betting on the college bowl games, is don't bet on the Big 10 and don't bet against USC. Give Pete Caroll, Urban Meyer, or Bobby Stoops 1 month, they are devestating. JoPa was like that, as was Bobby Bowden. But they are a little to old now. USC romps over Penn. St. and Texas smacks around OSU. Slight edge to Stoops since Meyers O-Coordinater left....GL to all

but Sanchez has almost identical stats.. and btw. .the Pac10 is actually a weaker conference than the big10 according to BCS computer standards.  so... hm...

fanboys homers please stop..  game is settled on Jan1st.  my $ is on PSU +10 and under 47.

 I actually live within a couple of hours of Penn St. So I am not a USC "fanboy". Strictly a bettor and capping the game.
I can't see the PSU offense moving the ball on the USC defense.
Any line under two td's and I was hitting USC hard. We will see Jan 1st.

Penn State +10 is a gift...I live in PA and hate them but they are solid.  I dont wanna hear this Pac-10 Bullshi$ either...they were down this year...and USC defense is so much better??? PSU has 5th defense....yea USC is #1 but I will gladly take 10 points with a defense that will contain a mediocre at best USC offense...yes I said it...mediocre.

USC and Penn St. are pretty similar offensively (in yards per game and points per game) ... is Penn St.'s offense mediocre, too?

USC offense sucks.  Both defenses are very good.
 
advantage offense = PSU
advantage defense = USC
Location advantage = USC
 
Should be closer than 10 points.  Even if USC does shut down the PSU running attack, they have to cover two full TDs.  I don't even believe they'll get 2 TDs in this game (settle for FGs, not saying they'll score under 14 points).   if it were Neutral somewhere in PA I'd take Penn St at the moneyline but in the Rose Bowl I'll take the +10 and not get greedy.
 
Also, every team comes out flat once or twice a season...you can't compare a team's two worst performances and call that the reason you capped a game a certain way.  You should be looking at their top 3-4 strongest performances because after a built up Rose Bowl hype and a month to prepare, that's what you should expect to get from both games.
