I went hunting for wild pigs in Alabama once, at least that was the excuse.  Lucky the pigs didn't shoot us as drunk as we were.  I"m not sure we ever actually saw any pigs.  I also spent a fair amount of time shooting pool well, and getting laid poorly, at the FloraBama.  I am told there's now some sort of Jersey Shore-type show based on life in and around the FB.  I was there when Auburn was in the middle of a 5-year winning streak against the Tide - a fact that literally came up at least five times a day, every day.  The radio station I used on my alarm clock use to play "the National Anthem" every morning at 8:00.  It was the Auburn Fight Song.  There was a guy that sold $2/pound live shrimp on my way home from work, a bar that didn't allow anyone in under 25 and had a "pet" alligator, and a bar - Judge Roy Bean's - down the street from where I lived that had livestock running around and a life-sized chessboard and chess pieces.  Jimmy Buffet came in and played for about 25 of us on what might literally have been only night all summer that could have been considered anything other than sweltering.  About a week after I arrived, some guy with a gun was banging on my door looking for his wife? girlfriend? or something.  He nearly shot me before realizing I was just some poor guy renting the place.  My landlady once told me that the person who rented before me was a "person."  It was her mother.  I miss Alabama.
