I'm not sure comparing Pitt to Tex A&M is meaningful given the difference in talent level regardless of their style of play. That's like comparing Georgia Tech to Air Force or even Army vs Navy. Texas A&M can make things interesting against Clemson ... Pittsburgh can't. My concern with this game is if Clemson will let off the gas pedal once they get a 3 TD lead. There's no point blowing out this over matched Pittsburgh team ... why not just pull your starters ... stay HEALTHY instead of risking injury? Playoffs is a few weeks away so resting players is not a concern ... only avoiding injuries is. So how will Clemson's second team play against Pittsburgh 1's? And WHEN do the first unit guys get pulled? Maybe Pittsburgh can cover because of this. Situational play? Absolutely but not because of any of the reasons you've mentioned IMO. No pressure, no playoff talk ... that's not gunna mean a damn thing for Pittsburgh because Clemson is bringing A-game regardless how Pitt feels but will Clemson keep the pressure on end of 3rd quarter and entire 4th quarter? That I don't know.
