I am new to F1 racing but have decided to give it a try. I will be up tonight anyway so I am going to try my luck even though I don't have a clue about this type of racing. Might be the only race we see Sunday with all of the rain headed towards BristoI.

Good God this race is unbelievable. Cars blowing up left and right...Hamilton and Vettels cars don't even last 5 laps. I can't believe they are even racing if these cars were this far off from being ready.

This race could be renamed the Mayhem Grand Prix. Here's the deal with a few things with this race, and then an interesting thing with F1 in general.
1. It's monsoon season by the track...and at anytime there could be a downpour. Before, during the race...at anytime with no warning. I've read some places that the Red Bull cars could benefit, but I'm not taking that into account into handicapping the race. Weather people can't get the weather right...I sure can't either.
2. It's not a difficult track to navigate so driver edge is somewhat negated. The strongest and most durable cars will determine the winner.
3. Mercedes main sponsor Petronas has it's home in Malaysia. If there's one race Petronas wants to win it's this one. Don't think they've made that clear to Rosberg and Hamilton.
Formula 1 note: Apparently, sponsors and tracks are extremely p*ssed at how the new engines sound, and some sponsors and tracks have already said they are thinking of dropping out of F1 permanently! They want the old sound back, and they aren't kidding. I'll admit it was weird hearing them, but I'm not ready to drop the sport completely. But like I've said, hearing those engines rev at the start, and hearing them fly into the first corner always gives me goosebumps. And obviously I'm not the only one! Look for the old sound of the engines to be back sooner rather than later.
On to the picks.
If you're betting F1, don't handicap the drivers as much as you're handicapping the team/cars. Also, throw out last years results. Completely different cars. Concentrate on who's running good, and money is sure to follow (fingers crossed)
Sometimes it's the obvious plays that people miss...so I'm not going to lay off the obvious plays for the winners, and I'll be on Hamilton and Rosberg to win before qualifying.
Hamilton's weird situation last race won't happen again, and Rosberg should be quick again as well. I think this could be a fairly entertaining race. If all the cars stay running throughout the whole race (lol...good luck with that), there are lots of guys that could be in the running for top 10 finishes.
Dark Horse could be Felipe Massa. He was very underwhelming last year in the Ferrari, but he's excited about this race I saw in an interview and hinted that he thinks their cars could be in the running for podium finishes.
When you bet F1, you have to be prepared to lay juice. If you only bet the underdog bets, you're going to have a hard time coming out ahead.
So I'm going to take 2 guys to finish top 6. Rosberg -250 Alonso -155
Also going back to my favorite F1 cashing machine Nico Hulkenberg to finish in the top 10 at -175. The Force India cars are no joke this year. They have been reliable through practice, and testing and through the first race...I like Hulkenberg to continue his run of good finishes here.
I'll probably have more plays after I see practice and qualifying.

Plays being posted...jumping on Vettel to finish top 6 at -215. He's got a car to challenge for 2nd maybe even a win if he gets a couple of things to go his way.

Hard to disagree with your top 3. Going to be interesting watching Vettel as the guy who's in third place and watches 1st and 2nd pull away...unless Vettel can get them on the start which would be amazing racing to watch

Good news for our first round of bets. We got the best numbers before qualifying on all the bets, so that's good...and that's about all we can ask for with those first round of bets. I'm hoping all the cars hold up this week...if they do I feel really good about the bets. Here's what I'm adding...
I mentioned above we're adding Vettel -215 top 6. Also adding
Daniel Ricciardo Top 6 -140 Jean-Eric Vergne -170 over Daniil Kvyat
And I mentioned earlier to not bet too many underdogs, but here's one that jumped out to me.
Valtteri Bottas Top 10 +110...Bottas got penalized 3 grid positions, but he's been a top 10 car in practices, and he won't have any trouble getting by the cars in front of him. If he stays out of trouble on the start, I see him running in the top 10 at the end of the race...The Williams cars are much better than they showed in qualifying.
Quite a few bets going in the race for me, but we had a great race last time out, so I'm hoping we've got a good read on the cars and teams this early in the year.
Whether you set your alarm to get up early, or stay up late...I'll be up for sure watching. GL gents!

Thank you sir...it indeed was another very profitable race. Could've been even better if Ricciardo's pit crew didn't screw up their pit stop, which is so rare I almost didn't believe it when I watched it happen. Could've been 6-1 on picks instead of 5-2, but 5-2 and hitting the winner are results I'll take every time.
