theres ways to make money in everything you do.  this could easily be a side job if nothing less.  i would see this as hard to do as your only source of income, since anyone no matter how good could go on a losing streak at any time.  and if you were already "loaded" so to speak, you could make more $ investing in other things then sports that are safer in the long run.  for me betting on sports/playing poker (even though i have been betting on sports more lately, basketball by far my favorite to bet) is a nice way to make money on the side right now.  personally i like to start small then try and gradually build it up to a lofty goal, then if i hit my goal or go bust start again. gl to whatever you do.

No, and never will. I made a little over $10,000 in May but some months are better than others. I probably, after taxes, pull in about close to 6 figures between my job and gambling.

You definately need a side job, or something to claim on your taxes.  You do not want the IRS on your heels.  If you can get a decent job that makes $60,000 a year, and make $40,000 a year gambling, that is a very successful year of living.  And 40,000 is definitely reachable

All depends on your expenses man. If you've got kids and the wife, then probably not. If you're solo or your wife is loaded, then you can do it. It's not nearly as difficult as its made out to be.

Yes i believe you can do it, this is my first year in wagering and i havnt been down my own money, i started with 50 then built to 3 k in a month in the NBA playoffs, then started basebeball and built it to 14k in 2months  you might think im full of shit but thits real

It's a hundred times easier to make money playing hold em.... sports gambling should just be a entertaining way to lose a little of your poker profits... unless you are a true pro, like Burns

I started the year like every year with a $5,200  deposit, and got the bonus from my book, and since then, I am up 38 units (1 unit $100).  I play parlays and occasionally single bets, but realistically, unless you have long hours each day to study what you are doing (for all sports), and have a big, big bankroll to start with, you can't live off what you earn.  I've averaged about 80 units a year ahead, and this year parity is the name of the game in baseball and football.  Basketball is a crap shoot for the NBA, and so college is my main betting area during that season. 
 
Even if you live in Las Vegas and gamble other than the sportsbooks there, you might make enough to live comfortably, but that is the exception rather than the rule.
