A buddy of mine hooked me up with his guy who he'd been betting with for a month. They exchanged cash 2 times that month no issues.I came on board the first week went 9-0 and picked up almost 2 grand betting with him. I was betting online at the time also so I could double up.
Well the time came to pay and he said he was in Pittsburgh all weekend and couldn't do it til Monday and he'd pay my buddy. Nothing that week and the following weekend I tried again and still nothing. Last week up til today nothing. He's given all the excuses in the world and the only thing I can think of is he doesn't have it.
How do I get it and end it with this small timer?

So here's the short story.

I mean he answers text messages and chats, just when I ask to meet he can't always. I know a little bit about him but not enough to go after him.
I was betting 2 and 300 a game with him and he said I was the biggest bettor he had. The kid can't have the cash to pay 2G's and wants to book? What a joke...

is it possible your buddy is bullshitting and he booked your plays hoping you would lose? its happened
Actually the same buddy's bets I booked a few years ago and he stiffed me for a couple hundy. I thought friendship was more important than money so I let it go. He knows better than to do the same to me...

I agree that you should put him on a payment plan - just like bookies do with bettors who lose and can't pay.
If he has a new or late model car tell him to sell it and buy something used and cheap, until you are paid off. Your firend touted him, ask your friend for info on him.
If that fails tell him that you will have no choice but to turn him into the police. And do so, anonymously. (He may still be booking with the small-timers he prefers)
Actually, it's your fault for betting big with a new, inexpericned man. You should have made very light bets for at least a month. Even offshore, I never post up much or bet much until I see for a while how the book operates. I don't care what rating they have, or what others say about them. (No, correct that, I want a good rating and good reviews, but still go light until I have experience with them.)
I doubt you'll ever collect, but you made the call to bet with this guy

Says he is a new small biz owner and that he had to put some of his bankroll into that and it's not working out.
I did go small with him, 50 parlays, 100-300 straight, but I just kept winning...
I'd settle for 1500 and walk away if he'd just pay.

This actually happened to me. One March, I was sitting around with all of my friends boozing and watching the tourney. Laptop was down so I just threw bets in with my friend's bookie (first time ever...I always bet online) and I went like 11-1 up a couple grand. Kid paid up in installments over 1 year. I got his final payment the next March madness

Sometime ago my buddies and me had a local book failed to pay and ran away. we used that local for two weeks and bang he gone. that's a great risk by doing business with a local you have to think ahead. Offshores are also not legit by US law, only State of Nevada is legal.
