i have seen this happen way too much.  my guess is that he was taking the bets hoping you lost.  500 bucks was too big a bet LMAO.  i think you are going about this the right way.  keep pestering him for it and in a week or so get tough about it.  i think you should at least be acting like you want to bet with him though, if he thinks you will keep betting with him it would increase the likelyhood of him payin you.

Dude, you are getting terrible advice.  The truth probably is that he has the money, but just doesn't want to spend it on "You".  You know the guy is eating everyday and buying gas for his car and other shit.  Go see him, tell him to go to the ATM and get $500 and then put a cash advance on his credit card! 

If you set up payments, you'll be dealing with this shit for another 3 months.  Get as much as you can now.  You can even let him arrange payments, etc., but I would just count the payments part as a loss unless you get bored in 2-3 weeks and want to go see him again.

This is what I would do, text him and ask for a face to face meet, and you want a show of good faith, ask for 5 hundred, he'll say he doesn't have it, work out a price of a couple hundred... meet him and take the couple hundred...

Once you see him you'll know exactly what you're dealing with...  A face to face meet will give you all the info you need to know...

Meet him ASAP and take what you can get, I wouldn't threaten viloence, it's 2 grand which sucks to lose, but swallow it and you learn a lesson...

stop playing nice though, he knows he can put you off and get away with it, sure he's playing nice and saying he'll pay you because you pose no threat.

I'm not saying to threaten him but it's time request a meet and get some return on your investments... even if it's only 10%...

If he can't come up with 2 bills and he's a bookie...

1) he's lying to you
2) he's fucking with you

take whatever you can get from this mickey mouse jack off and walk away don't waster your time but I wouldn't play it nice anymore...

you gave him a couple a weeks, now it's time for a show of good faith...

last year my guy couldn't pay said he was running around collecting from a bunch of stiffs and was short on paying guys. I asked him how much is owed to him and how much he owed...he told me, so I fronted him the cash to pay the guys he owes to and regain his control and call the creeps who were stiffing him...and in return I wanted 15%.

He comes to me once in a while for a spot loan, but books are just like us, guys that like action.

GG...this guy probably doesn't have it...see if he's interested in being financed for a cut.

sad to say this bookie holds all the cards.  its his money and you cant go the cops and cant beat it outta him, so its all up to him.  if he has any honor at all, hell pay you the money eventually.  the fact that he is responding to texts is at least something, meaning that he hasnt avoided you completely.

Not yet, but he's coming to watch the OSU-Mich game with a grand to give me tomorrow...

I guess that's better than zero.

If he doesn't, I found out the place of business he owns, and am gonna pull a Tony Soprano and take it over like he did that guy's sporting goods store. Sit there and wait until the end of the night when he cashes out his drawer and take what he has.

a lot of the times when this happens he cant pay you with his own money so he is waiting for the ones that owe him money to pay you off. But if he gets stiffed by the ones that owe him money he prob wont have the money to cover your winnings
