Actually the same buddy's bets I booked a few years ago and he stiffed me for a couple hundy. I thought friendship was more important than money so I let it go. He knows better than to do the same to me...
Your buddy sounds real shady... Same thing happen to me with a cousin. When he won got paid every monday, when I won was always an excuse on why he couldn't come to square up! He went down bad on NBA one year, so i cut him off till he paid 50% of his balance. He knew i couldn't lean on him cause he was family, so i just marked it up as a loss!!! But he came back a few months later trying to place bets thru a friend.
So my point is your buddy was shady when he stiffed you the first time... So don't think for one minute he wouldn't stiff you again! He knows he got away with it before...

unfortunately there is not alot you can do and its simply cause its not really worth getting yourself in trouble for, you can't hurt the guy as much as you want to cause you'll get charged, you can't harras the guy cause again you'll get screwed. when you bet with a bookie that is always the chance you take and unfortunately its happened to you. the only thing that you may be able to do is sell the debt to the hardest person you know, if the book owes you 2 grand then sell it for between 500 ans 700, you get some money and then you are out of the situation, its no longer your problem with what happens to the guy, you may want to tell him you are doing this and there is a chance he comes up with cash, other than that, its not worth it, hope this helps

Good luck. If the guy doesn't want to pay you then he doesn't have to. My advice would be to just be polite. If you piss him off you may never see your money.

My thoughts have been the same all along. No reason to be a dick about it this soon. This goes on another month and I'm seeing nothing, then I say fuck it and take all my anger out on him...

I would definitely be asking for my money dude. Sorry that he has been trying to stiff you, but it happens. I never had that problem yet, but it isn't uncommon. I'd say do as much legally as you can, and hope your constant calling will result in some money.

I feel bad for u but what does your bookie do if someone stiffs him, does he mind??. Also is he still taking wagers, or is he kinda in hiding, u should tell him that your gonna spread the word that he likes to stiff people, just a thought

simple plan have your buddy tell him he got another guy who is eager to bet. Have another guy meet up with him and say he wants a 2k acct setup and he'll pay up front to avoid payout problems later, but he wants to meet him..I'm sure this guy will jump all over that idea of collecting free money...When you meet up with him, take your money or whatever he has of value to off set your hardship...Also most ppl have debit cards so take him to the ATM. 400 limit or 500 limit per day on withdrawals, I've done this exact thing before however it could be considered a felony since your basically robbing him....lol but i say never let it go, at least give him an ass whooping. Take some friends its always more fun if friends can join in.

I'd break the chimp's legs on principle ...rent yourself the movie "Misery"...there is a good scene in it that will guide you through...screw the cash... I would break them again as soon as he's discharged from the hospital...well worth 2 dimes...

I'm 2 hours away from where he lives, so not exactly around the corner from him. No big deal, just gonna wait and collect and then politely say go fuck yourself you small time jackoff.

Never had your problem (b/c I lose as often as I win...), but I would try to find out his whereabouts.
You don't have to threaten him, but if you can est. that you know how to find him if things have to get ugly, he might just try a little harder to pay.
Good luck - that is a shit situation...

golf man....if hes gonna try to shkeef you out ....or stiff you or whatever you gotta beat the man at his own game. This is what you do.....you obviously have his full name and telephone number im assuming, you can try a local search on the internet for your funds.
OR what i would suggest...cause if your "friend" , the one who referred you to this bozo in the first place wants to assist you....you should get a heavyweight ..or someone you have who is really intimidating....call this guy from a diff number etc .....say he got a referral from someone or even your friend ..place a wager for 3000 that you pretty much know is going to lose..and when it comes time to pay....arrange for a meeting for your friend the heavyweight to meet him cause he wants to pay. You need someone who is not only intimidating, but someone who is sly and savvy enough to basically make themselves look so honest and innocent....and the type who will honor their losing wagers....someone who doesnt keep a tab or run a balance..someone who bets one game at a time.
When it comes time for the fake wager to pay.....you go with them and a crew of people....and get the money from him. If he doesnt have 2 k on him take whatever you can in collateral. Tell him the fake wager was just a ploy cause he was avoiding you....if he needs to get roughed up...rough him up...bring 5-6 guys with you....after you done with collateral collecting and what have you.....drive him home....find out where he lives...look at his ID so you know where to come back to find him.....
and if you dont wanna do it yourself....find the address he lives at and walk into a biker bar or "ask around" if you know what i mean and sell off the debt to a "higher party" usually debts around 2000 ish you could sell to gangsters for 1200...and they will collect their own money....
or if you wanna take a conservative approach....call the cops on him. Tell the cops you been getting calls from this number asking you to gamble and spend money and you think its a scam artist...tell the cops he took 2 grand from you ahhahaha hey at least if you rat the guy out it would stop him from doing the same stuff to someone else right? and hey....you might even be able to find his address using this method as well....
whatever happens ...best of luck with finding him. And remember you dont need to be the one who breaks his legs. Never leave a paper trail:)

I don't think you want to do anything illegal, or even to suggust to the wannabee bookie that you are so contemplating.
My suggestion again: contact him, tell him you want 25% of what he owes you by Dec 1, no later. 25% more by Jan 1, no later. And the balance before the Super Bowl
If he still pleads poverty tell him then that as much as you don't like doing "it" you will have to do something you don't really want to do Don't tell him what it is.
I think there is a chance he will cough up your dough, out of fear. Fear of the unknown is the most potent fear there is.
If no money comes from him by the your deadline date, drop a dime on him. You seem to know what town he lives in (2 hrs from where you are) and have at least his email address.
Make an anonymous call (from a pay phone, you can still find those things in front of convenience stores) or send an anonynmous letter to the local police chief (in the bookies town) and give them his phone number and/or email address, and printed out emails with bet lines, if you are going to send a letter
If you're not going to get paid by this creep, let him know that actions have consequences. End his fledgling business career now.
Even if he knows that you dropped the dime, and tells the cops, bettors are never arrested and prosecuted. (Despite what some here may tell you otherwise)

chances are if he owes you, he owes a few...that dude is plannin to jump ship. hes playin you for time and your givin it to him, stop all contact unless he calls you. do not try to contact him again, once your quiet for a while he'll get nervous. then one of two things will happen he''ll pay you or youll never see him again. thats all you can do for now
