if he didnt kill her with a gun, he wuld have killed her with a knife, or a shovel, or crowbar..etc, etc, etc..
if you wanna kill someone, there are plenty of objects around that can easily do the trick

Santa Claus hasnt killed anyone either so what does your god have to do with anything? Lets stick with reality and keep the fairy tales out of the courts okay?

Ccould you cite a single one of the "thousands" of studies please?
I'm not a "gun nut", but I am at least aware of the data. And the data strognly suggests otherwise. Chicago is the perfect example of a city with strict gun laws -- probably the most strict in the country -- and yet gun violence has gone up as the laws have gotten more strict. Legislating guns doesn't work, people.
The sad fact is that Belcher could/would have stabbed/bludgeoned/run over with his car this woman, and then done something else to kill himself (OD, crash car, you name it). Suicidal/Homicidal ideation doesn't require guns to exist, or to execute.
People like Costas, who see something like that happen and say "guns are the reason this happened; we need to get rid of guns" are naive and stupid -- yes, stupid -- and can't see past the most superficial, kneejerk layers of a very complex problem.

Would he then go to the stadium and stab himself to death or smash a shovel over his head?

This.
Why I think you're generalizing "Americans" a bit, many republican types will never understand. Only people that should have deadly weapons like that are people who are trained to use them (Ie. police officers). How is Tom person and Harry running around with a gun safe? I could never live in a place like that.

I don't want my Senator or Governor commenting on my sports, I don't need my sports commentator commenting on political issues.....
Talk about sports Costas, or stick your head up your own a$$....
