I'd even put Mike Trout on that list.  Guy is an insane athlete.  5 tools.  Has everything.

Athleticism is combination of speed-strength-size and agility. Most of the people on yor list are not all of those. They are all great players...but players like Vick-Sanders and Lewis have no size or power to speak of

Vick has speed and agility...but has zero size and power. Which is why he is hurt weekly. He might be faster than Young or Elway. But Elway and Young were bigger-tougher-stronger players and they both had better arms.

Barry Sanders was one of most exciting players ever to play. Guy was capable of taking any play for a TD. Problem for Barry is he wasn't a big guy and he couldn't get the tough yards. His agility is unmatched...but he didn't have the size-toughness or strength that players like Brown-Simpson and Payton had.

Comparing Lewis to Bolt is self-explanatory. Bolt is bigger-faster and stronger... how is it even a debate?

If we are just talking pure athletic skills -- it has to be LeBron. He is a physical freak of nature, never been anyone like him before in terms of a combination of power, size, and speed.

Sanders.  Guy was terrific, but he tackled like a box.  And whoever said he had to get a concussion to be great?  He was great.  Best offensive player ever.  But not a complete player.  He ignored a big part of his sport....namely the physical part.  FACT.

I'm not disputing your point, it's a given that he wasn't touched. However, that was the beauty of his game. His gift was that he could anticipate thus he was always two "steps" ahead of everyone which is why he was able to record 200 points in a season on four separate occasions. Critics want to say Gretzky scored all his points because Messier and McSorely had his back but that's complete bullshit and not even debatable...the 70's and 80's were the most violent decades in hockey, Gretzky certainly wasn't playing in a non check environment....think about about it...todays game doesn't even consist of a red line, the goaltenders are reduced to playing the puck and the games rules are set forth to incorporate more goal scoring and yet the best player of today won't come close to producing what Gretzky did during his 2 glorious decades. I'm stating my opinion as a fan....as purely subjective as this entire forum but the numbers don't lie.

can anybody please define athlete? seems like some people believe you have to be dominant in a sports or win a championship but has anybody really seen barry sanders play.

he had absolutely no offensive line and no team around him.
lets put michael jordan with the charlotte bobcats players around him and see how many championships he would have won. probably none. 

michael jordan had a great coach and great players around him.

1, barry sanders
2. bo jackson
3. deion sanders

bo would be first but he was injured way too many times
deion was great also
