What about the Biblical archeological findings confirming people, places, etc. Kitty Katt. How do you fit those in to your atheistic views.
That's solid proof that matches many things in the Bible. You write those off? Chose which ones you believe.
Ebla tablets—discovered in 1970s in Northern Syria. Documents written on clay tablets from around 2300 B.C. demonstrate that personal and place names in the Patriarchal accounts are genuine. In use in Ebla was the name "Canaan," a name critics once said was not used at that time and was used incorrectly in the early chapters of the Bible. The tablets refer to all five "cities of the plain" mentioned in Genesis 14, previously assumed to have been mere legends.
Finds in Egypt are consistent with the time, place, and other details of biblical accounts of the Israelites in Egypt. These include housing and tombs that could have been of the Israelites
The Hittites were once thought to be a biblical legend, until their capital and records were discovered in Turkey
In 1986, scholars identified an ancient seal belonging to Baruch, son of Neriah, a scribe who recorded the prophecies of Jeremiah (Jer. 45:11).
In 1990, Harvard researchers unearthed a silver-plated bronze calf figurine reminiscent of the huge golden calf mentioned in the book of Exodus.
In 1993, archaeologists uncovered a 9th century B.C. inscription at Tel Dan. The words carved into a chunk of basalt refer to the "House of David" and the "King of Israel." And the Bible's version of Israelite history after the reign of David's son, Solomon, is believed to be based on historical fact because it is corroborated by independent account of Egyptian and Assyrian inscriptions.
It was once claimed there was no Assyrian king named Sargon as recorded in Isaiah 20:1, because this name was not known in any other record. Then, Sargon's palace was discovered in Iraq. The very event mentioned in Isaiah 20, his capture of Ashdod, was recorded in the palace walls! Even more, fragments of a stela (a poetic eulogy) memorializing the victory were found at Ashdod itself.
Another king who was in doubt was Belshazzar, king of Babylon, named inDaniel 5. The last king of Babylon was Nabonidus according to recorded history. Tablet was found showing that Belshazzar was Nabonidus' son.

I said the Bible does not give a time for creation, all of the time frame stuff you speak of comes from scientists throwing out unproven assumptions. Just like your 3.5 billion years stuff coming from radioactive decay measurements which they have now said are less accurate than once thought.
God does not operate on a little clock like we want him to. Get over that and move on.
With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

All of you non-believers are Blind. Spiritually Blind. Instead of havng an open mind and looking at everything in the world for what it is. You keep a closed mind and stick to what your mind tells you it thinks is right.
Just think about this for a moment non-believers. For there to be no God three things would have had to happen:
1. The big bang wouldve had to accidently created a male human into existence
2. The big bang wouldve had to accidently create a woman human into existence
3. The two of them(somehow accidently magically created) wouldve had to come together and form an entire human race.
Do you know how much FAITH you would need to have to believe in that?
The Bible(written about 4000 years ago) if taken for what it is, is the Word of God written through men.
The truth is this. At the beginning of mans human existence we were SEPERATED, i mean DISCONNECTED from God.
Now we are so spiritually blinded as to the truth. God has revealed himself to the world, but the world is just the way that it is.
The teachings of Jesus are not the reason for such war and destruction in the world. It is the humans. It is mans mind.
If everybody followed the teachings of Jesus we would all be connected with the 1 Source of Life. Jesus taught love, kindness, and forgiveness.
He didnt identify himself with being a christian. He was a total present human being, and then a religion was spun off of him.
Its a shame that so many people have missed the mark so badly and are so spiritually blinded as to what is the truth.

Even by the theory of evolution, man and female human beings had to come into being by accident and form a human race. So whether or not they came into being immediately or over time by evolving either way it was accidentaly.

We as human beings are no accident. By the theory of evolution we are just a lucky stack of chemicals that has evolved over time.
The first theory of evolution book was written in 1858, and the fact that you would rather BELIEVE in that, over documented accounts written 4000 years ago says a lot. Once again, its just spiritual blindness.

Are you kidding? Evolution is FACT. This is not a debate... There is no argument against evolution. It is 100% ABSOLUTE FACT... If you want to use the word "believe" then go right ahead, so I guess I "believe" in absolute fact. How silly of me...
You don't even make a logical argument. Your argument is that older books are more factual? Interesting...

Do you understand what you are saying? The oldest rocks found are around 4.2 billion years old. This would mean radioactive dating would have to be off by 99%... Hmmm... The methods used by scientists are off by no more than plus or minus 1%
And matt says the bible tells us the earth is 6,000 years old. Can you guys get your story straight?
Regardless, it does say it is 6,000 years old. You yourself posted the quote about a day being a thousand years. The earth was created in six days right? What is 6 multiplied by 1,000?

Evolution is not fact. That is why it is a theory. It really comes down to faith, and those who believe will be rewarded, not only in this life, but in the afterlife as well. Those who dont will regret not believing after death. Not saying you will go to hell, but you will regret not believing during your life. Spiritual blindness.
Jesus's teachings whether you believe in God or not, cannot be debated with. If you want to live a peaceful happy life with prosperity and success, you can do so by just following his ways. But, most of the people in this world would rather not follow him, but live the way there minds tells them to live. Its spiritual blindness, and a total disconnect from the Source that created us.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, that which is born of the spirit is spirit.
You need to have an awakening to come to a realization there is more to life than you think, that is why you must be born again of the spirit. It seems clear to me that most of you all are not at that point yet in your lives.

As a matter of fact, we are not the only 2 saying it...
Statistics say there is 1.5 billion christians, 1 billion Muslims, 0.8 billion Hindus, 0.5 billion Budahsim so
1.5+1+0.8+0.5 = 4.1 billion
World population almost = 6 billion
So, about 4.1 billion think this way to.
That is a heck of a lot of people that you would have to put in a mental hospital...lol
In logic, an argumentum ad populum (Latin for "appeal to the people") is a fallacious argument that concludes a proposition to be true because many or most people believe it; which alleges: "If many believe so, it is so."
This type of argument is known by several names,[1] including appeal to the masses, appeal to belief, appeal to the majority, argument by consensus, consensus fallacy, authority of the many, and bandwagon fallacy, and in Latin as argumentum ad numerum ("appeal to the number"), and consensus gentium ("agreement of the clans"). It is also the basis of a number of social phenomena, including communal reinforcement and the bandwagon effect. The Chinese proverb "three men make a tiger" concerns the same idea.

Evolution is basically species living in a habitat for thousands of years and slowly and subtly changing to better survive.
Creation is god waved his magic wand made the entire universe appear.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. When a theory is based on observable fact, we can calculate the probability of its accuracy. When a theory is based solely on unobservable speculation, we cannot calculate the probability of its accuracy. So, mathematically, the atheist viewpoint is more logically sound.
And no offensive, I am not ignoring you. I have already addressed your isolated instances in the bible. You point to things the bible got right as to why it is accurate. The bible also says talking snakes exist and people lived to 900 years old. So for every historically accurate event the bible mentions, I can point to one that is impossible to be true.

Finally someone else has come on this thread to shed some light on the lie that is atheistism. But these spiritually bankrupt individuals are to blind to hear the truth. There is truly no hope for these lost souls.

Are you insulting us for not trusting a 4000 year-old novel (which you all admit have been changed, edited, lost, rewritten, etc.) over scientific observation? I feel like I've stepped out into a nightmare

Think about this. Why would a sane and secure spend countless hours arguing about something that they don't believe in? I don't believe in the divinity of Joseph Smith and I have several Mormon friends. I don't debate with them or anybody else about their spiritual beliefs. I don't put them down. I don't call them names and I don't question their intelligence. I am secure in my beliefs and have no need to debate about something that I don't care about. So the question remains atheist. Why do the lot of you spend all this time coming on this thread debating Christians and other theists about their beliefs in God. If you were really secure in atheism and it was all that it was cracked up to be then you would leave well enough alone. Obviously since you boys are so caught up in "proof" and "evidence". The "proof" and "evidence" shows that you guys really don't believe the crap you say and you're borderline insane for debating something that you so vehemently deny exist.
