I know some of what I said for a FACT. If we created a new world and told everyone Harry Potter was the bible, they would treat Harry Potter as god. That is FACT. They would not know about Christianity. That is FACT. What they would do when we told them Harry Potter wasn't real remains to be seen. We can postulate, but it is NOT fact.

For this purpose, it does have to do with the amount of people that believe. The more people that believe in things that inspire them to do evil, the more of a problem it creates. So far, Harry Potter hasn't inspired anyone to do anything evil. Therefore, it is not affecting our lives. And to be honest, if people started arguing that Harry Potter was true and it gained enough of a following (like for example, 500 years from now when all references to the books' creation is gone), then we'd be doing the same thing to debunk that.

Easily. The world would be a better place if the overall intelligence of the world was higher. People who believe in god are typically less intelligent than those who don't. People who don't believe in god look for answers to problems and explanations to things they don't understand rather than just attribute it to god. It would serve the world better if everyone sought to discover new things and understand already existing things better, rather than attribute it to magic.

We don't need empirical evidence for god either, we need circumstantial evidence. We need math. We need probability. We can calculate the odds of life on at least one other planet in the universe as almost 100%. We cannot calculate the odds of god's existence because we have no evidence whatsoever. Not even circumstantial. We have nothing. Also, aliens are 100% testable in theory. We could theoretically explore the entire universe and see if they exist. We could never see if god exists. It's not a double standard. It has to do with testability. Aliens don't defy the laws of physics. God does.

I hear you Rostos, that's why it's always fun to hear them spin their wheels on their own theories that are full of holes.

Atheists sit around bashing God but when you get them to speak on their own theories, beliefs, hypothesis, they look just as stupid as anyone believing there is a greater power at work.

Dr Francis Collins , OWNER of the genome project, Einstein, probably the smartest man to ever live - he didnt believe int he Christian God , but he believed in a supreme being, he was a deist...he believed in a spinozas God, Gallileo.....

Some really dumb people there....

But you realize that we don't need to prove any theories. We are not making the claim that magic exists. You are. We don't exactly know so of course there will be holes in the theories. But at some point all of these theories will be proven or disproven. The god theory will never be proven or disproven. And since it cannot be proven or even supported to the point where it is more likely to be true than not, there is no reason for me or anyone to believe.
