Memo to UCONN its not the same and no one gives a sh*t

and you are missing the point that while they are playing their peers, its these peers that take away from the gravity of the "feat". womens sports is a complete joke, and the fact that they are even in the same breath as Woodens UCLA run. absolutely appalling to any person with a inkling of intelligence.

for example, you want to know the coolest thing womens golf ever did? michelle wie and anika sorenstam playing in men's events(well natalie gulbis too, but thats a different story). and you may say i cant compare the two because its women in a mans sports. well thats exactly the fucking point we are trying to make here. i would consider the uconn womens team beating ANY d1, d2, or d3 mens basketball team ONE TIME a bigger accomplishment than winning 88 straight against other women. there is just no way you can argue this.

while that may be true, it doesnt detract from the original argument

hugh, its about them comparing it to a man record. i agree that women records are for women, children for children, etc, but ESPN comparing this feat to a mans feat is just fucking stupid.

I think most Covers posters would agree that no one cares if there are no betting lines on regular season games for women's basketball.     

  Make sure your grandson gets a running start so you will never forget the kick.  Women's basketball is irrelevant, yet ESPN feels it deserves air time. 

I would add this to  the arguments above how ridiculous this comparison is...........anyone who played rec bball at college at a University that had a decent women's program knows this..........you line up 5 fit decent guys in a pick up game and you can basically take out a NCAA's women's D1 team.........I went to Rutgers when they were in the top 10 all 4 years I was there....and we'd tear these chicks a new asshole on a regular basis

I find it hilarious how ESPN picks things to talk about nonstop in which no one gives a shit about. Like a few weeks ago how they tried to make a big deal out of the Kobe Bryant/ Call of Duty commercial. It was talked about on almost all the shows. “Oh my God, Kobe Bryant is holding a gun, this sends a terrible message, blah, blah, blah.” Finally they realized no one gave a shit and they dropped it.

Unfortunately they aren’t getting the message on this one.

example..A lower ranked/no rank team in mens basketball is a hell of a lot more likely to beat a top ranked team than in womens bball. there is basically no chance in hell a lower ranked/no ranked womens team beats a top ranked. The difference between competion is just not the same.hence is why the streak is not as meaningful. Thats if you want to compare it to the mens record. the winning streak is still impressive but should not be compared
