i respect girls... most of them are more responsible than me, have class and style, don't like getting buzzed like i do etc. and my girl falls into all these categories

BUT

comparing womens sports to mens sports is ridiculous...i played d1 tennis in the states and i could beat the number 1 girl playing in my sleep...womens sports are a joke and comparing it to ucla or mens sports is stupid...there is no depth, no parity, nothing in womens sports (including ncaa basketball)

Serena Williams would whoop your ass in straight sets.

Her serve would give you a bloody lip if she wanted .

The ones you did get to would be out of play at best.

tazs crew -- I realize you were talking about NCAA womens but if they are so "pathetic" I recommend attempting to play at a Womens Semi Pro Am level or better and you have 0% chance

Remember when the William's sisters were talking smack about how they could beat John McEnroe and they wanted to challenge him? Being the sassy black women that they were, they were very vocal about this ( sorry Scalabrine )  and they said that they could easily beat a #200 ranked male.



Any record set in the women's arena should be kept in that arena. Do we hold female athlete's against the men and compare their times to mens times? No. What UConn have done is fantastic, but please don't compare it to the mens arena. After all, they don't even use the same basketball so how can you possibly put them in the same breathe when they are NOT using the same equipment?

ESPN has become a joke. It is more TMZ than it is a reporter of sports. It has spent more time talking about Favre and LeBron's off field activities than their actual stats this year.

I would add this...I'm seeing ESPN touting  Mike Krzyzewski's chasing down Dean Smith for second most wins by an NCAA division 1 coach behind Bob Knight. Pat Summitt have more wins than Bob Knight, so wouldn't that mean Krzyzewski is going for third most wins at best? I don't know if there are other women's coaches that have more wins than Smith/Krzyzewski but I know Summitt does.

I totally agree with NJDevils and the records aren't comparable, but if you're going to lump men's and women's basketball together for one record, why not all of them? 

Also, I don't think this will ever happen in Men's NCAA Basketball, but if any team does ever get close to 88 wins in a row, will anyone really think of them as being close to passing UCLA's streak but still x amount of games off the record set by the UConn women's team?

It's a great accomplishment, but its a separate thing.

Stupid comparision UCLA was the Best basketball team in all of college basketball,This Uconn team isnt it would get killed by all mens teams at every level so to compare this to the UCLA streak is ridiculous

The majority of arguments in this thread against this UCONN teams feat include something to the extent of "womens sports suck". 

This is not a debate of the quality of play … it is a discussion of one team winning 88 straight games against teams of their peers. 

It is an incredible accomplishment   
i agree its aincredible achievment but it needs to be seperate from ucla's record one is a mens record against mens teams,the other is a womens record against womens teams

They all skate around wearing these giant shoulder pads too, like some monster is going to smash them into the dashers or something


Although my school actually does have an impressive women's hockey team... its terrible watching them play ice hockey against other girls, but a few of them are actually smoking hot, I had a great time back-checking them
