Definitely not as entertaining as it once was. This politically correct PG bullsh!t is bullsh!t.
I used to spend a good amount of time sh!t talking in the box with Marino, JMBurd, Oldlineman, Xena, UncleMudcat Wizdumb etc. lot of others I left out who have moved on.

There were some real characters in "The Nation" . All in all they seemed like pretty decent people. Great smack talkers.
And yes, Nut-Flopper, I was a mod for a while back then. Good times.

I.M. Bettor !!! Wow what a flashback . I used to grab the Boston Herald on Friday just to get his NFL picks. I do believe he was on a great spread run in the NFL for a number of years. And he would pick sides and totals that most people would avoid. I do remember that after a sick run ,he did have one pretty awful year ,but hey that happens.

Hey all,
Do not want anyone to think this is Big Brother coming in to ruin the fun or anything.
Just wanted to say that we also think this is a great thread, and even with some changes everyone continues to enjoy the site and keeps coming back.
We thank everyone for their loyalty, and again, this is a great thread, we agree there should be more in the same spirit of just good conversation.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoy the games tonight.

chilitokid--Thanks for the info. I know I.M. used to watch the MNF game at Davios Restaurant's bar in Park Square in Boston. The Herald didn't know what a gold mine they had. I know a slew of people who bought the paper only on Friday because his column appeared on Fridays. He did have one bad year so they got rid of him. He was fearless in picking seemingly ugly teams, but somehow he won. A very successful contrarian.

Most people who bet on sports aren't successful in the long run. Most of the members don't stick around too long, cuz they can't sustain losing consistently and throw in the towel.
I had a money management problem. So no matter how much I was up, I would inevitably lose it going harder and harder.
I don't bet anymore, but I still stick around for some sports related talk and a laugh in the general discussion forum.
What's annoying about having a bunch of rooks on the site is that they are more of hardcore adrenaline rushed-sports fans than cappers. Some of which are competitive by nature because they probably played sports when they were younger.
So it's natural that trash talking would go on. With the rush of younger bettors, you're also going to get a rush of immaturity as well.
This post ended up being a lot longer than I thought. I will bold the points for easy reading, cuz some people's posts I just can't read with all text.
