Less then 4 weeks away wanted to start a Breeders Cup thread where we can keep track of final preps, trips, injuries, and how BC fields are shaping up. Below I will post some links that should be helpful.

Early odds have So You Think among the early favorites at 6-1 odds. This New Zealand bred horse has won 12 of his last 17 starts including the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes.
Uncle Mo was also expected to race in this year’s Breeders Cup at early 8-1 odds. He received all the hoopla coming into this year’s Kentucky Derby but was diagnosed with an illness and eventually pulled.
Stay Thirsty is another big name expected to race in the 2011 Breeders Cup at early 12-1 odds. Stay Thirsty enjoyed solid appearances in the Belmont Stakes, Jim Dandy Stakes and the Travers Stakes.
Elsewhere, Tizway was also listed among the favorites at 10/1 odds. Some books had him at 6/1.
Havre de Grace was at 12/1.

My top three contenders right now look to be Secret Circle, 7/23 race @ Delmar very impressive, I still have to see 10/10 SA race. Vexor 8/10 Sar beat Seeker who might be 1 of 2 starters along with She Digs Me for Asmussen, 9/5 Sar was awful but throw out race due to track conditions and 10/2 Bel win visually impressive. Jake Mo is a colt I never heard of until today and after watching his last 3 races I think he's legitimate. 6/25 PrM very fast and showed he can run down on inside, something alot of 2yos struggle with early in their careers. 7/16 PrM 5 1/2 F stakes record and 10/7 Rem tough trip, 11pp hung wide, change in tactics had to close from 7th instead of being up on pace, I can forgive him on that one.

Power looks to be very good, I still have to see his 10/8 New race but he was impressive closing on 9/10 and 8/7 was caught late after being up on the pace. Furners Green and Questing are two more Euros that may be worth looking into. As far as the U.S. contingent I would like Shkspeare Shaliyah and Fantastic Song more then Finale. Finale 9/17 Woodbine, not an ez winner by any means in a questionable field and Filly race that same day was faster and I will be getting more into that.
Juvenile Filly Turf
Maybe looks to be a tough filly in here, Lyric of Light and Fallen forYou are two more Euros to look at. Dayatthespa is my top U.S. contender right now, exits 9/17 Woodbine race in which Northern Passion won but the race was set up for her pace wise and she slipped thru the inside, Dayatthespa pressed a fast pace (quicker then Finale's race) still held 2nd and everyone else that was up on pace collapsed.

Awsome Gem is a good Exotics play, but the win end I question with his affinity to not win in big races aka 2nditis!
Also, I don't have any stats, but I'm not sure when a horse 7+ in age ever won the Classic??? I can't think of one.

smarty..The "Win and Your In" doesn't work like most of us think it does. Since Ben's Cat wasn't nominated at a cost of $500 for the BC series when he was born in 2006, King Leatherbury has to come up with 100K to get him into the Turf Sprint race now. Typically high level owners/trainers pay the fee at birth but King wasn't crazy about the breeding of Ben & normally didn't pay the fee on any of his horses. His business is in the dumps now & he only has 17 horses in his stalls to train. He said most of his customers that provided stock are dead.Leatherbury is looking for investors to put up the money.

Winter Memories ran the best race of any horse I've seen in her last, if anyone gets a chance to watch it please do. She has had tough trips and over come tough trips in the past, but last time was something special.
