Whats up play2winthagame, thanks for starting a BC thread
I've been doing some Breeders Cup capping, those big payoffs keep me awake at night, seriously. Check out this angle I have been working on.
Last 3 Breeder's Cup races ran at Churchill Downs that were 6 furlongs or less were all won by the # 1
2006 BC Sprint
1 Thor's Echo 33.20 15.80 10.20
$2 Exacta 1-2 paid $955.40
$2 Superfecta 1-2-7-6 paid 113,911.80
2010 BC Sprint
1. 1-Big Drama $12.40, $7.00, $5.00
$2 Exacta (1-4) Pays $254.80
$2 Superfecta (1-4-5-9) Pays $27,878.00
2010 BC Turf Sprint
1. 1-Chamberlain Bridge $15.80, $8.20, $5.60
$2 Exacta (1-2) Pays $156.20
$2 Superfecta (1-2-4-7) Pays $17,630.80
Notice that the exacta came exactly 1-2 twice. Also, if you bet the 1 thru 4 horses in an exacta box in each race, you would have hit the exacta every time.
In 2/3 races, the superfecta hit with horses post positions 1 thru 7.
A similar result could repeat itself this year at Churchill. These are one-turn races with the best horses in the world, horses so good that the time it takes them to run 5 or 6 furlongs is not going to vary significantly. I think it is only logical that the horses on the inside, especially the #s 1 & 2, have a huge advantage regardless.
