I went out to Vegas about 5 years ago with my buddy for 4 days. We stayed at Planet Hollywood. Now, my buddy likes to bet big, and he also has a *slight* gambling problem. The second night we're sitting playing blackjack, and he's getting creamed. I'm basically breaking even, but I'm laughing my behind off as he's flipping out at the table, incredibly drunk. After losing two big 20's to a 4 card 21 he swipes the table and knocks his chips (about $1500 in green chips) all over the floor and starts yelling at strangers "Go on, take them! Grab them before the house does!"
He lost that $1500, and slammed the rest of his money down on the table, bills flying everywhere. I grabbed $100 and hid it from him so he'd have money to eat for the rest of the trip and went upstairs to sleep at around 5 AM. I woke up at about 4 PM and he's not up in the room. I get dressed and ready to go, and head downstairs for some food, then look for him in the casino. He's nowhere on the playing floor. At this point I try calling him and his cell is off. I start worrying about him a bit and call his sister to see if she had heard from him. She didn't answer so I left a message saying, "Hey, it's me. I...uhh...I think I lost your brother." I ended up finding him the next day. Apparently he had lost all of his money besides $20, put it on 3 at a roulette wheel, hit it, and then went walking around various casinos for a day and a half.
As we're heading to the airport (both broke, and we stayed an extra night because our plane had engine trouble) he's in an awful mood because he went clean (about $5,000), and I'm laughing at him because when he gets in a bad mood he starts acting really funny. As we're walking by the slot machines I say to him, "Hey look, a progressive slot! You could put your last $7 in, hit the jackpot and still not be even for the trip!" We weren't friends for a few months after that trip. Thankfully now enough time has passed that we can laugh about it.

1997, I was at Caliente sportsbook in TJ Mexico, I use to go there to place my wagers, watch the games, eat good mexican food, and then go to Chicago Club or Adalita's for 60 dollar hookers.
So this trust fund kid is there, and he plays big, roughly 5K a game. So I made a play on the lakers facing Orlando for the first time since the Shaq trade, year before the big diesel was injured.
so to my surprise the sniviling daddys rich boy has the same wager, Lakers are favored by 4 and are down by 24 at the half.
No Biggie for me even if it lost as I just had 440 to win 400 on it and That wasnt my best game, the bucks vs Miami was my top play that day.
Well, little rich boy is sitting at the table infront of us and making an absolute fool of himself and the ter ugly american was in full effect and on display, cursing, swearing and disrespecting the waitresses and staff.
He throws his ticket toward the TVs spits on a TV and says darn you kobe, walks out, I go pick up his ticket and its 5K to win 4500
I put it in my pocket cause you never know. Well that day was a you never know day as Rodman started pulling rebound after rebound and the lakers stormed back and won by 12.
I went to the ticket counter and the little frog looking guy was like Egh Amigo this isnt your ticket, I said Shut up cash it, You take 500 and 500 for your supervisor. They cashed it, I walked away with over 8375 after there 1.5% extra vig Bullshit, as im leaving, Little rich boy runs back in, and says Player Player, did you see what happened to my ticket that I threw away?
I said you its in that garbage over there, (I pointed him to the garbage where all the sour cream and gaucomole and salsa were, He is sticking his hands in there and hes like ughhhhh

Went back to the Aria sat down and cashed in $500. Turned that into $2000 in 2 hands then left. Went to take a 30min nap then eat again with the guys.....sat back down at the tables and built it up to $5600....left to go eat at the burger place at Mandalay...went to go nap again then came back down to play more bacarrat and lost The winnings leaving 1000...went to go sleep a little longer and pack the bags...sat down the final day and built it up to $7600 playing bacarrat...overrall a great time and experience. When I first sat down at the tables the pit boss payed me mind,but after all the winning and losing the knew me by name. Great time had by all my buddies and yes.... We are going again in sept with everything comped, but this time in the Aria corner sky suites. This trip will be bacarrat and more Sportsbook....but still bacarrat!!

A guy homeless barefoot guy walked into one of the ritzy Strip casinos @ cashed a Social Security check--won over a million on black jack--but within short period lost most or all of it back--don't know if he ever bought some shoes, probably not--happened about 20 years ago or so.

This happened in the late 60's, there wasn't much sports action back then, MNF didn't start until 1970, so basically there were 2 NFL games on Sunday ans 2 college games on Saturday. on TV. The racetrack was a major part of my gambling action. I worked as a clerk on Wall St. grossing $110.00 a week. I called in sick on a Thursday and went to Belmont, had a good day so I took the bus to the night card at Yonkers Race track. Won about $400. for the day, more than I ever won before. Got to keep it going so I call in sick on Friday and off to Belmont another good day won $200, so I'm up $600. for 2 days, another bus trip to Yonkers, I can't lose. There is a stakes race with a very heavy favorite from France, I bet $600.00 on the favorite, if it wins it will pay $2.20, The favorite, my bet, gets nosed at wire, I lose $600.00 almost 6 weeks pay. THE SAD PART IS IT PAYS $2.20 FOR SECOND THE SAME AMOUNT IT WOULD HAVE PAID IF IT WON. Wept about that for a week.

This trip was crazy!!! Had about 20 something people fly up with us for the bachelor and bachelorette party...
So I flew into Vegas on a Thursday for 11 days... First 3 days was for the bachelor party.... and then my girl flew up on Sunday and I spent the rest of the trip with her...
I had 2700 for the bachelor party weekend and another 4500 for when my girl came up...
First 2 days I lost a little and by Saturday, I had a little over 2000... Went to Sapphire and Spearmint Rhino for the bachelor party and spent a shitload of money on VIP bottle service and lap dances for the bachelor... Got back to the Palazzo hotel around 5am and was about to go sleep, but was too drunk and couldn't sleep cause I was spinning out... LOL... Went down stairs with one of my boys and hit the $15 craps tables... pulled out what money I had left and cashed in my last 300 from the 2700 bankroll I had for the weekend... Observed how the other players were rolling and the table was cold... By the time the dice got to me, there was only 2 people left on the table other than my friend and I... Put 15 on the pass line and a 5 on all the hardways, working... Come out roll, hard 6 or 8, cant remember which number but I parlayed it... 130 across the board and a little while later hit my point, the hard way... LOL... Pressed it up to a 100 and eventually the number hit again the easy way, so I put another 5 on it... Roll was about 30 to 45 minutes long, but eventually crapped out... My friends roll was next and his roll was even longer and he also hit me with a hardways with 50 on it... Dice went around the table and came back to me... My friend and I both had another good roll each and by that time it was around 9am... Cashed out 2800 and my friend cashed out 2200... crazy thing is there was a guy on the table who said he was down around 2000... He was playing no less than 100 a number, but wasn't playing all the numbers... When we were leaving the table, he colored up too... He cashed out close to 15,000 and gave us 200 each... LOL... Crazy night/morning...

I know people exaggerate to make the story more interesting and I don't doubt this story is true, but how do you go all in with your last 1000 and double up on the second hand with no money left?

About 10 years ago I was killing time playing nickel video poker at the Gold Coast. These machines had a "double-up" feature where, on any winning hand, you could try to double your win by picking a card higher than the dealer's card (basically a 50/50 shot). If you doubled and won you could again take a shot to double your winnings but if you lost you lost everything you have won to that point.
So this homeless dude sits down two machines away from me and pulls some change out of his pocket, searching for nickels, and puts 2 or 3 in the machine. He is looking at the buttons trying to figure out how to play...finally plays a hand and wins maybe 15 credits. He hits the double up button, and wins, then doubles again and wins...and keeps doubling...and winning! Each time he wins the machine racks up his credits and is taking longer and longer to do so...and after a while I stop playing my machine and just watch him.
He keeps hitting the double up button and keeps winning...maybe like nine times total. By this time he has over $300 in credits, all after starting with 2 or 3 nickels! I am watching him to see if he is gonna cash out or risk it all once more...and he is just looking at the machine and just seems baffled. I finally ask him "hey man, do you know what you are doing?" and he says "naw, man, I just been trying to get my money out of this thing". He had NO IDEA that he had been winning...he was just pushing buttons! I explained to him that if he hit the button on the left, they would come pay him about $300. He says "no garbage?", I say "no garbage!" and he hits that button. They come hand pay him over $300 and he digs back into his pocket, finds his last two nickels, puts them in, loses, and takes off.

I stayed at the Paris Hotel for a weekend with my wife and was walking the floor around 8 at night and walked by the private blackjack table room. This guy had his private table and looked borderline homeless. He had a a cardboard box like the ones you put 4 six-packs of soda in on the chair next to him with a third filled with cash. He had at least 5-6 stacks about 10 inches high in $100 chips and couple smaller five hundred chip stacks. He was playing 2 hands and would just shove the stacks not even knowing how much he was betting, it was pretty crazy. Couple times the stacks were so high they would just fall over. He seemed out of it like he was drunk but was drinking water the whole time. Maybe 5 minutes into watching him he went on a hot streak and hit at least 6 blackjacks in 5 minutes, that was the craziest thing ever, he could not lose. They were rotating 3 dealers for him but he kept tipping all 3 dealer (about 2k in the 10-15 minutes I watched this guy). At one point a concierge from the hotel came by the table and tried to get him to stop and said they needed to close his table. He was pissed!!!
On a separate trip I was downtown at the Fremont with some friends at the blackjack table around 3am and this old guy comes on the table and was drunk. He throws 3k on the table and plays 1k on the first hand, loses, then he bets another 1k on the next hand and loses. Takes another 1k in cash out of his pocket and tries to put 2k on one hand. The dealer checks with the pit boss and he allows the bet. He gets 16 and hits and busts. The guy was wearing khaki pants and started to piss in his pants right at the table! He gets up and gets escorted out. One of my friends comes over couple minutes later and sits in the chair lol!!!

Fellas, GREAT stories here...definitely want to add my +1 to avoiding drunken/chasing-gambling sessions. I've got 3 craps stories, from cool to insane...hope you take the time to read the rant!
1. About 5 years ago I was at the Sunset Station on a busy weekend. Table was full, I was rolling fairly consistent. Guy comes up, says he's confident I can help him; pulls out his "last $25 (chip)". Bets a hard 10...of course it hits. He seemed complacent, and just let it ride. OF COURSE that hard 10 came back around. He shook my hand and thanked me. "COOL"
2. Same trip, very VERY late one night. I was showing my then GF the basics on an empty table. We're just shooting to each other at opposite ends. Some old man wanders over, and starts pulling Black and Purple chips from his coat pocket. Needless to say, we're doing really well (the guy is scooping chips back into his pocket). When he finally decides to color up, they had to shut the table down, and call up to the eye in the sky...MULTIPLE TIMES. I have no idea what he ended up with--just that he had TWO checks brought over to the table as payout. He asked to be "tailed" on his way out by staff (cause I would have followed, LOL). He didn't tip, or thank anyone during the entire session...just gave my GF a handful of $25 chips. "WOW"
3. 3 years ago my Father and I took my brother out for his 21st. Decided to hit up the Circus Circus for the cheap limits. I tried for an hour to get him on craps, but he didn't like the "volatility...too easy to lose THAT quickly". BLEH. When he finally came around, he buys in for - - $40. HAHAHA. When the table thinned-out, he went to the opposite end. His roll comes up...and it just goes on and on. Like something you see in a movie, where people flock and look over shoulders. Guys are coming up and buying-in for 400/500/600! And still, my brother ONLY plays his passline. Obviously, he craps-out...and totally freaks. He immediately wants to quit; not even wait for another chance to roll. He walks away to cash, and I stay. The table eventually dies off, the only people that stuck around were basically waiting to see if he'd come back. When he does, I find out he took his "$40 investment" and turned it into - - - $500 - - - ON JUST A $5 PASSLINE (maybe a Yo here or there, but not even odds!). Guys are thanking him heavily for their profits, and one asks for a pit boss to get him a comped meal or something. Pit boss obliges, and while he's writing out the slip, another guy asks for his "time of roll". I swear on my only daughter's life...his answer was "about AN HOUR AND A HALF". If anyone has ever had a heater, you know how fast it goes, and only a slow person cools you down. So naturally I didn't know just how long he'd been going, especially considering the pit boss didn't time him from his first roll.
would have been great story if you had mentioned your take on that world record 1/2 hour roll.

Some old man wanders over, and starts pulling Black and Purple chips from his coat pocket. Needless to say, we're doing really well (the guy is scooping chips back into his pocket). When he finally decides to color up, they had to shut the table down, and call up to the eye in the sky...MULTIPLE TIMES. I have no idea what he ended up with--just that he had TWO checks brought over to the table as payout. He asked to be "tailed" on his way out by staff (cause I would have followed, LOL). He didn't tip, or thank anyone during the entire session...just gave my GF a handful of $25 chips. "WOW"

Yeah baby... Gonna be landing in Vegas Thursday morning... Staying for 11 days for a bachelor party and then some QT with my girl... and a shitload of gambling... Hopefully I come back with a whole lot of stories of taking down the house... LOL... Aloha

Made a two week stop in Las Vegas, summer of 2011, that turned into 3 months 'cause I was winning enough, barely, to pay rent and food.
But with typical small bankroll, the fun didn't last forever.
I sadly packed up the car, checked out of rent-by-the-week kitchenette ("The Downtowner Motel"), went to spend one last afternoon hangin' with buddies at Red Rock Casino sports book.
Drinking off buddy's comps and eating Fat Burger - enjoying it all too damn much!! So I put in this desperate 8 team parlay, not to make a big killing, just win enough to stay another few weeks:

Back in 97 four of us went to Tahoe for some golf. The date is easy to remember because we arrived the day of the infamous Tyson-bites-ear-off-Holyfield fight. We're told that Sunday night in Nero's (the club inside Caesar's) is ladies night.......also $1 drinks, anything you want. So we show up & it's too early.....club isn't open yet. I decide to kill some time playing BJ..........& I can't lose.........hitting everything. So I'm rolling, up like &700-$800 ( only started out playing $5/hand). The club opens up & my buddies are barkin at me to go in & I tell em to go ahead. I eventually hit a wall & decide to get up........I'm up about $1k. So I go into Nero's & buy my boys some drinks, telling em about the roll I had, & notice it's about 20/1 guys over chicks inside the club...........fukk it, I slug down about 4-5 $1 B&B's. After getting sufficiently smashed I wander back out to the floor & go back to the same BJ table I was at before.............& proceed to give it all back & then some. It gets a little fuzzy after that. I can barely remember trying to find the exit & getting a cab........seriously, couldn't find the front door. My boys are long gone & I can't remember where the hell the condo is.........but remember it's across the street from a Safeway. Next morning I'm getting pushed to get up for golf & I can't remember a fukkin thing & why do I have like only $8 in my wallet? One of my buddies tells me I woke them up about 230am yelling because I couldn't remember what unit we were in. Needless to say, I played like shiit that day........& it actually snowed on us during play.
Just to top it all off we get to the airport early the next day to get rid of the rental car, & upon checking in for our flight (on now defunct Reno Air) we get offered $5 upgrades to 1st class as they're celebrating their 5 year anniversary.........not real stellar on the old MD-80's but wtf. My 1st time in 1st class & I end up sleeping the whole way back.

My craziest story isn't nearly as crazy as everyone else's, I might get laughed at on here but it was especially wild for me because it was my first time to Vegas and I was 21, in college, and absolutely broke. It was pretty laughable to look back at it now, stayed at the now defunct POS New Frontier and was gambling such a low amount of money, I think I budgeted myself around $300 for the trip.
Anyway, I think I was over at the Stratosphere because it was one of the few places that had $5 tables on a Friday night, was playing roulette. I walk up to the table and I notice on the hand history that red has hit like 8 or 9 times in a row. I walk up and there are 3-4 guys in suits and they have a lot of money on black, I join in for like $20...red hits again.
So anyway, after this happens one of the business men asks the dealer "What is the table max?" and they reply "$5000". All 3 of the guys say "Screw it" and each reach in their pockets and pull out 5k in cash and put it on Black. A lot of other straddlers come in and start pushing chips on black as well. I look at my buddy and say "Screw it, I'm going in too" and pushed in like $80. The pit boss was freaking out and it took like 20 minutes for everything to get sorted out, I couldn't stop staring at the amount of cash that was sitting on the table (They didn't bother changing them into chips).
So anyway, the roll comes...it feels like an eternity but it hits on...black! Everyone starts jumping up and down celebrating and the pit boss looked so pissed. The businessmen call over the waitress and order up tons of shots for everyone and throw her a $100 tip. Good times...
