@fubah2 This shows up in the standard deviation of runs scored/allowed per game. High standard deviation in this case means you can't have a lot of confidence in the number. Once nice method in the context of baseball is to cap the runs scored for a given game at say 8. Works better than simply removing or ignoring the outliers. Good luck second half.

So I chose 9 as my cap number because lacking hard standard deviation stats I figured it is approximately double the league mean avg for rpg per team (4.5 give or take)....thus figuring scores of 0 to 9 for a team must be fairly close to the bulk of all scores (per team) ....double digits is where I make the cut. It's an inconvenient extra step to recalculate the teams' better rpg but it is more accurate and I only do it to begin each series.
