Colin, the fix thread (where anyone posting about fixes and anyone who posts in those threads, will be banned or whatever the really harsh penalty is - above and beyond just moving the thread to the Penalty box) and now this "no more Covers Experts"...
...is being mandated by US based Sportsbooks such as Fanduel and Draft Kings, yes?
Also is this why I now need to use a VPN in order to read and post on Covers from my home in South America?
Lastly, why is the "Don't post about fixes" thread stick gone after only 3 weeks?

I found the ban on fix threads a major slap I the face ...
I've been posting for here for over 15 years now, basing my NFL picks on how the shady league manipulates key games has helped me profit for 14 of the last 15 years here ...
Now I can't post that anymore
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

There is a place where these types of post can be made and it's in the Other Betting Forum.
We will only ban those who continue to post in forums that aren't the Other Betting after being warned. The thread is no longer stickied, but the rule can be found on the Forum Guidelines page.
This rule change was made at our own discretion without any external influence. Although I'm not sure why you would need to be on a VPN from your region, does your internet service provider block sports betting websites?

No, they don't block sports betting site, my country is very liberal. Although I laugh at the fixsters and realize that there is a place for those types of posts here on Covers, I was just wondering why the penalty is not the same as it is for other "offending" material, which is to relegate the post to the PB and anyone being bad (even in a good thread) be warned, suspended and then banned. That's been working for years, not sure why the conspiracy theorists who have lost a bet and blame the ump(something that sportsbettors have been complaining about for years) are faced with such harsh penalties.
But it's your site.
I guess my concern now that I am seeing all these new rules and that my country is banned(?), is that maybe Covers is going the way of SBR, where everything having to do with Heritage, YouWager, BookMaker, Bovada etc... the offshores that cater to US based players, is also banned.
Draftkings and Fanduel with all of their legal US cashflow is buying and influencing alot of the major sports betting sites and I can't say I blame them. I'd do the same and some how strangle talk about the aforementioned offshore book makers that offer way more advantage to the sport bettor than FD and DK. Disable as much as possible the competition.
OK so Covers is still an international site where discussions can take place about offshore books. Thank you. I'll work on finding out what is up accessing Covers from Colombia once I am back there.
GLTA and let's go Padres!

@barneybeans Those offshore guys have been here for the long run letting people bet and supporting these sites. It's all about the o mighty dollar.
same thing for SBR and now SBR has wiped out everything having to do with offshore, as if it never existed. Their site offered the best odds by sportsbook page on the entire internet (classic view), having a choice of about 20 sportsbooks you can slap on your home page and all types of lines - it is now limited to 3 or 4 US based sportsbooks.
They took the almighty dollar from US based sportsbook and altered their site and rules. I just don't want to see that happen here.

The decision to close Covers Experts is entirely business-driven as we look to focus on affiliate marketing, growing our user base and strengthening our sportsbook relationships in North America and beyond.
@gambleforfood
Most of the handicappers have their own sites, social media pages, or are on other handicapping sites.

If it happens, I'm really looking forward to their free picks on the 18th. I wonder what games will be available. Who is going to pick the big favorite. Who will give us a winning dog. Will they all get them right? Will they all get them wrong? The 18th is marked on my calendar. I hope it happens.

My thoughts exactly! I initially thought Covers was done... just for a second. Been using the experts for 10+ years. That's too bad but still my favorite sports betting info site.

Anyway it's only a matter of time until DK and FD take over everything here on Covers and no one will be able to talk about how much better offshore sportsbooks treat US based players. DK and FD can't compete with the likes of YouWager, BookMaker, Heritage etc... Can you imagine DK or FD having .10 cent MLB lines or -105 on NFL?
I am cut off from Draft Kings, can't get in and they say it's because the geo locator can't find me, but I am in the middle of NJ when I try, using the same computer and everything that used to get me in. Using a brand new computer with zero software loaded on it, over at a neighbor's place -or- using a brand new cellphone doesn't help. They have me cut off at the account level.
Can you imagine Heritage cutting off a sharp player winning decent money because they were chasing steam in pre season MLB?
