Wieters sucks, and JPERO i thought id bump this just to rub in this 8-4 jays win tonight. To say the O's are better than the jays this year is just foolish and i can't believe you attempted to glorify them for a whole 6 pages. Wieters and the O's will be below average for the next 5-6 years

He is on pace for 31 HR and 91 RBI's with 84 BB's after a poor start.
.169 .253 .313 .566 April
.215 .348 .430 .778 May
.276 .382 .862 1.244 June
.350 .409 1.050 1.459 Last 7 days
Which one of these is not like the other? I see a
trend here, but yeah he is only hitting .205 with a .315 OBP for the
season because of his crappy first 83 AB adjusting to a new league, and
the next 113 AB are just a fluke

Mark Reynolds 6 HR in last 11 games.

Before the O's blew the game last night, they had the same win percentage as your Jays.
Record outside of BAL v NY games (Bmore is 0-6 vs the Yanks this year but should have won 3 of those games):
BAL 30-26
NY: 29-27
O's only have losing record this year against 4 teams. Indians (0-3), Yanks (0-6), Jays (1-2) and Texas (1-2).
That is 2-13 vs those 4 teams meaning they are 28-19 vs the rest of the league/teams they have played. And Matusz has just come back.

Just for the record...I never questioned his power. I knew he'd get better when the weather got warmer because...well...everyone gets more power when the weather gets warmer. But I still think he's going to stay around the Mendoza Line.
But he's been very impressive of late with the power...no doubt about that.

A player who hits .200 with an OPS 800 is more valuable than someone who hits .320 with an OPS 670
I still thing Reynolds ends up hitting around 225-230 when all is said and done. Wouldn't surprise me if he got up to .240-250
Last season he was around .220 BA and a .850 OPS going into September and then attempted playing through hand/wrist injury that led to him batting .067 the rest of the season.

Batting average means absolutely nothing.

Kakes is also starting to turn it on. Has recently started choking up and has been batting over .400 since he has started to choke up to go along with an OPS over 1.000. This has been since June 10th

okay, so reynolds has been hitting well in june. What about your saviour Matusz? The O's as a team have been playing worse ever since the start of this thread

We old time O's backers loathe this current mix; having said that Buck stays no matter what happens this year as he is in rebuilding mode; Reynolds will not be an O after this season!! Matusz will be here.

I was wondering when the birds would bench reynolds, but he is starting to carry his weight ..... people laughing at the Os, and I would agree....the starting pitching will not go very far ... 1997 will just stay a distant memory until i have kids etc...and put them in front of the TV in 2020 ..

You are a tool. Matusz is either hiding an injury or hasn't fully recovered from his injury before. Even Joe Maddon, coach of the Rays, said that there was something wrong with Matusz and he had to fix himself.
I even stated in a thread 2 weeks ago that I would not trust Matusz right now because he is throwing in the 85-88 range instead of his normal 88-92 range and he was not having his normal control of pitches and had no feel for his secondaries. Since he was having these issues batters were able to sit on his BP fastball that he was leaving over the plate and up.
Matusz is a stud you ignorant fool and when he gets his shit together he will be fine. I guess Doc was a bum too when he had issues and had to be sent to the minors.

He is either still injured or has not
built up his arm strength/mechanical problems yet. He has been throwing
in the 86-89 range instead of 88-92 and his location has been pretty
poor. Add to the fact his secondaries, which he normally works off, are
not sharp because he doesn't have hte feel for them.
I think
Matusz will struggle and wont be himself for another 3-5 starts.
