Markakis sucks this year, their pitching sucks except Britton, bullpen is horrible, PacMan Jones is overrated, roberts is always injured, Wieters is hyped up too much, but he's an average catcher, Mark Reynolds will be in top 5 of most K's this season, Hardy is mediocre, the list goes on and on......

He is not overrated. HIs offense was overhyped, though.

Right now he has the 7th highest OPS of any catcher in the entire MLB. 2nd highest in the AL.

He is by far and away the best defensive catcher in the league and its not even debatable. When he was hyped every said he was going to be average defensively and might even have problems. The opposite has occurred. He has become the best defensive catcher and calls a great game. Because he has spent so much time on his defense he has stunted his development as a hitter. He is starting to come around offensively and he is still only 25 years old.

He will probably never become the .850-900 OPS catcher some thought he could become but he still can become a .780-850 OPS catcher while being the best defensive catcher. If he does become that offensive catcher, that combined with his defense, will mean he is the best all around catcher in the league.

Not too shabby for someone to have an chance to be the best all around catcher in the league and still be called overrated or overhyped.

I bet Seattle today btw. They just pwned the Yankees 2 outta 3. Hoping Fister will revert to the old Fister, and Arrieta will pitch like he did against the Nationals. If Arrieta gives up 5+ against the M's, he may be hiding an injury or have some kinda hidden problem.

Ben Grieve, Marty Cordova, Erik Hinske were all ROY.

Being ROY does not guarantee a great career.

Wieters will put up similar offensve numbers, probably slightly below, but his defensive will be so far superior it will make up for hte difference.

well considering Buster Posey's ankle snapped, he could be another 1 year wonder.   At least Eric Hinske is still in the league.  watch how the Giants play for the rest of the season, if they suck, you will see how important Posey meant to that team, kinda like when Lebron James left Cleveland.

Besides, Buster Posey's career was kinda headed to Derek Jeter status, if he didn't tear up his ankle.  ROY and WS ring in the 1st year, just like Jeter

not the fister who started off 2010, from start of season up until May 31. the only reason why they lost so many games was absolutely no run support for him. game log is here:

So Reynolds, Tabata, Choo and Willingham are more valuable offensively to their teams than Pujols, Cargo, Cruz and Vlad based on that one stat?
