I got murdered on live wagers last night due to this. My local handed me a stack yesterday, well it looks like he'll be getting it back after last night.

I've heard stories of how the balls are you juiced. How you can take a newer ball and an older one and drop them both snd the newer ball has more bounce. Overs have been seemingly hitting.
"Love, love will tear us apart again."

Should the MLB put a safety net up in the bleachers? It would also help them save balls.
Wow. Just unreal. Definitely makes you think. I was watching the cardinals bs pitt game yesterday and lance lynn was throwing a ton of meatballs that just so happened to carry over the wall over and over and over again

could also be pitchers are arguably better these days and throwing harder and position players are just thinking to go yard. in the olden days people would manufacture runs but in todays game guys are just trying to crush it. doesnt mean balls are juiced. just different player mentality

its a different mentality these days. guys are going for the bomb. they are not looking to manufacture runs, it's too difficult. teams are recruiting power from the minors.
long gone are the days of the Juan Pierre's and David Ekstein's. No one gives a chit about "well he may be small but hes a good dugout presence".
if you cant go yard youre nothing.

if this bs was true then certain power hitters will be hitting 60 HR this season. its not the case. its not like people are scoring more personally, it means more players are hitting HR because teams are looking for power as the main offense and players mentality are to hit the ball as hard as they can.
lol @ anyone crying black magic in the ball.

You just confirmed you know absolutely nothing about this sport.

In this generation wouldnt be surprised..... with the NFL/NBA gaining viewers each year, baseball is still considered a boring sport, MLB is just adapting

Clearly in 2014 the offensive #'s were low, and if I remember correctly it was a bad year for t.v. ratings even though there were some phenomenal pitcher performances that year. 21 teams finished with an ERA under 4 that year.
In 2015 only 15 teams had under a 4 ERA. (this is the year where this "new" ball was introduced post all star break)
In 2016 only 7 teams had under a 4 ERA.
In the current 2017 season, also only 7 teams have under a 4 ERA.
Have the batting averages changed much? No, not significantly. Are hitters better? No.
The most alarming thing to me out of all the info I've read is the lowered seams on the baseball. The articles I've linked mention how it effects the flight of the ball. But they fail to mention how important the seams are for a pitcher to grip the ball and create movement on their pitches.
We shall continue this thread for a long time I suspect

Don't forget in college hoops they shortened the shot clock 2 years ago
*btw, the NBA has turned into pure trash. When I watched the draft last week I got sad seeing so many good kids, good team players, getting drafted who will get absorbed by the individualistic influences of that league. The NBA should be called the NDL(no defense league)

In my opinion, this is the main reason for the increase in HRs. Players are crushing the ball and have forgotten how to play small ball. We've seen so many double digit scores this season, it's become so commonplace now. In this day and age when steroid use isn't as rampant as the Barry Bonds era, players are still getting an advantage from somewhere. Crappy bullpens, and juiced baseballs are probably factors to some degree.

Not letting pitchers properly warm up because of the pitch count theory plus having them serve up a Titleist = Crappy Bullpens. That's also the reason for the recent explosion of 1st inning runs. The starting pitchers now warm up with long tosses in the outfield.

LogCottage claiming something is Fixed is hilarious? What? Did you finally come to your senses? Are you admitting you were full of garbage all of these times you were accusing everyone to be lunatics for thinking the game is fixed?
