Just leave Rush easily as the best from Canada, and definitely include Triumph and Loverboy in the next tier in no particular order with the others I mentioned.

Oops. Have to move Neil Young in front of Gordon and the Edmund Fitzgerald..
The Legend of the Edmund Fitzgerald. . . what a great song. Did you know that on the same date(Nov 11) of the tragedy of the Edmund Fitzgerald, there were 2 other shipwrecks on Lake Superior? I believe the Edmund Fitzgerald went down in 1975. . .

Neil Young and Our Lady Peace are great. The rest are hosers, eh.
Saw Gordon Lightfoot a couple of weeks ago from the 3rd row. It was embarrassing and laughable. The motherfucker looks like he is 104 years old and sounds even older. His voice is gone. Most in the audience were shocked as soon as he came out. He dropped his pick in the middle of a song and spent about 30 seconds looking for it while the band kept playing. He just looked like an old man bent over trying remember what he was looking for. Not trying to be disrespectful, but we payed good money to see someone that should have quit long ago.

RUSH easily is the strongest & best band to come out of Canada. Been to over fifteen shows going back to Permanent Waves. My favorite band, Canadian or otherwise. Neil, Alex & Geddy have no equals.
Triumph follows in the 2nd slot. Rik Emmett is, along with Eddie Van Halen and Steve Morse, the most talented guitarists in the last 30 years. Triumph's concerts, though filled with a lot of pyros & audience interaction, were dissappointing. 10 songs played in a hour and a half. Drummer Gil Moore wanted more bombastics placed on the show instead of showcasing Rik's killer playing, and eventually paid the price by the the band breaking up in the late 80's, and Rik saying fuck you Gil.
The Guess Who are next. No Sugar Tonight by itself puts them in the top three. Randy Bachman & Burton Cummings, great writing duo. April Wine's songs kinda blended together without much substance. I'd give Loverboy the 4th spot based on their first two solid albums (Loverboy & Get Lucky). Saw them in '81 in Oakland at Day on the Green along with Blue Oyster Cult, Heart, Ozzy w/ Randy, & Pat Travers. Good times!
