Hey jmw59, how 'bout Triumph? You know one of my all- time favorite bands from Canada is APRIL WINE. I really like Myles Goodwin on vocals and the harmonies are great. They have been around since '70 or so.

god i hate RUSH, their music is so slow and so soft, i swear it's the worst garbage on the radio

Wow revenge, I don't think their early stuff is slow. Have you heard their album 2112? On a music level, Neil Peart is one the best drummers of all time. Actually, Alex Lifeson is a great guitar player and Geddy Lee plays both bass and keyboards.

I'll be honest, only yime I ever hear RUSH is when they're on the radio.  I listen to the radio for about 50 hours a week while I work.  The newest song "the largest bowl" or something like that is just awful.  It's so slow and soft.

Just not my cup of tea that's all.

Hey revenge, the early music of Rush is rarely played on the radio. It's typical to hear songs like Tom Sawyer and the new stuff on the radio these days. But the way early stuff(1970's) is a lot heavier. Also, their album Exit Stage Left is good too. I know they are touring right now supporting their new album. For a 3 piece band, they are very good. Longevity is there too.

Yes, picc818, Loverboy is Canadian. I forgot about them. I liked their early stuff. Mike Reno, the lead singer, was known for his headbands.

You have to mention the Barenaked Ladies, Blue Rodeo, Sloan, Trooper, April Wine
 
 
but a huge gab between the top 3 and the rest for the exeption of the Barenaked Ladies which probably make the most money in sales due to success in the US.
 
Also a huge gap between first place and the field too.
 
 
 
May have to put in couple of Hip CD's on and BBQ everything in my freezer tomorrow afternoon.

April Wine was mentioned JimmyJay I forgot about Kim Mitchell. "Go for Soda" was a great song. Sent a good message too. Also Trooper. Their biggest hit was "Raise a Little Hell". Good song. I can't get into Barenaked Ladies. Too corporate with their silly song lyrics. .

Not only are they most likely the best band from Canada, they probably are the best 3-man band too...I mean really, if you've seen Neil Peart in action, then you know what I'm talking about Willis.

Pretty boring huh? Funny, I've never heard of half of what you mentioned. I may wrong here, but I doubt it, but those that were mentioned before have a lot more records sold and notoriety than what you mentioned. . . . A lot more. . .
