I believe the only real question is how many games will the Hornets win in this series. They're too good @ home to lose both so i put them down for 1.
Again i reiterate i doubt they are getting any real ratings for this series & to not risk any unnecessary injuries to Wade & other vets this must be a short series. I predict 5 games. The plan is to get Wade & the Heat to face Lebron & the Cavs, where the real money can be made.
I'm purely basing this potential play on the above reasons. Getting a good read as best as i can & following my instincts on how i think the league wants this to play out. Again will have to wait for ref assignment and see if it doesn't support the play further.
"Miami has won 10 straight first-round playoff games and 16 of its last 20 series after grabbing a 1-0 lead."
The Hornets coach, though, was pretty clear about what went wrong -- his team played terrible defense.
Clifford said the Hornets spent Monday breaking down the defensive
miscues in Sunday's Game 1 loss and "put a big dent into what we have to
fix."
Asked if he's going to try and do more to take center Hassan Whiteside out of the paint defensively, Clifford said the Hornets already do plenty of that with Cody Zeller. Offense, Clifford said, wasn't the problem for Charlotte. It was all defense.
"That was not the problem. We couldn't guard them at all. That's what
we've got to fix. You want to fix both areas but the offensive part was
more than good enough to win. The Heat averaged 1.42 points per
possesion, which would be the highest of any team in any NBA game this
year. So, they rocked us. Changing the lineup to put more offense on the
floor is not what we're looking for. We've got to be able to defend
them."
We've got to set a tone higher on the floor with ball pressure. We've
got to be earlier with our talk, better with our organization, be more
physical, ready to play.
We
were 1.02 points per possession for the year [defensively]. We were the
ninth best defense in the NBA and it was out of character for us and
they took full advantage of it."
Looks like it may be a slug it out, grind it out sort of game. The result could be a closer game than i anticipate but hoping Miami can pull away in the 4th enough to cover even if by a bucket. As soon as ref assignments are out will post official plays.

Great stuff 3BB! Do you have a spreadsheet or something with refs and their tendencies that you can share?
If i didn't have 3 kids i'd have a bunch of spreadsheets with detailed information. Unfortunately i don't have anything to provide. I merely go off Covers information in match ups.

Good job on the picks! How do you think, 3Ball, will Detroit win something in this series, or queen just past through them with 4-0?
I'd back Cavs all the way. Pistons may take 1 game, just double up on Cavs the following game. Lebron & co will kick it up another gear. That loss to the Warriors will be fresh in their minds & will drive them all the way back to the Finals.
