A lot of people will probably lean towards Memphis after seeing New Orleans whoop the Hawks on Monday.  They will see the similar twin towers of the two teams and expect the same result.  While New Orleans dominated the glass on Monday, I don't think it was the deciding factor in the game.  I think these factors played a bigger part.

I think you're off here man...even of the sharps are with you.yesterday the line was +3.5 and went to 2 yesterday night.
I think atl will struggle to score tonight.you re right about anthony davis/randolph comparison,but the guards in memphis can play lock D,and they can get off tempo the hawks(i dont think teague will be able to lead the team properly tonight).Just ask to golden state and the blazers who have usually awful shootings nights against memphis.

The Hawks started the game off with quite a few careless turnovers and very poor 3 pt shooting.  Korver and Horford missing open shots that they usually make.  I have faith in those two warming up some.  The Hawks are getting the looks they want and they just aren't falling while the Grizzlies have been taking a lot more contested shots.  Their 2nd unit can't do much on offense with Dennis hounding Udrih.

what are your thoughts on tonight's game? rebound from yesterday's game and cover the 6.5?

They have to be pretty tired from a very physical game against Memphis yesterday.  Flip went big against Atlanta the first time and it worked pretty well.  I have to think that the Wolves can cause some problems for Atlanta if Pekovic plays and they start Thad, Dieng and Pek.

Lately, they seem to cover when I pass and fail when I do play them so this may be a good day to take them.

Minny has been playing well and Rubio should play tonight and be fresh. I actually like Minny here to win this game straight up. ATL probably in for another let down as Minny has worst record in the west but have not had starters play most of season. Should be a good game. Unless ATL doenst miss because they sure missed a lot yesterday.

I agree.  I'm just hoping the Hawks are able to pull out the W in this one.  Millsap and Horford need to contribute on offense if the Hawks are going to pull this one out.

Anyway, if you're around, what do you think of ATL -11 Orlando tonight?

Personally, I think it's a wee bit too hefty. Vucevic has been playing lights out recently and it seems to the Hawks' Achilles heel is effective 7-footers. On the ATL offensive end, maybe Horford can draw him out for Millsap to come in and clean up on the boards. So I expect Millsap to have a big night, especially against a past-his-prime Channing Frye.

But note that Bud might rest a hobbled Teague tonight. Still, Mack and Shroeder are clearly capable of picking up the slack.

If anything, I really like the over 195.5. Maybe that'll be my play.

I have laid off of betting since my last post.  I did make two second half bets on Indy and Houston last night to get back in the game.

Atlanta vs Miami

-I LOVE this matchup for the Hawks.  Miami's lack of depth becomes a real issue when they play the Hawks and it has led to 2 double digit losses this season.  This Miami team is just not very good right now.  Since acquiring Dragic they are 2-1 with wins over Philly and Orlando and a loss against New Orleans (w.o Davis).  They were down by 8 to Orlando with 37 seconds left before the Magic choked in usual Magic fashion.

-Miami is 0-4 in their last 4 back-to-backs.  They had blowout losses to GSW and N.O. and close losses to Char and Minny.


-Who guards Korver?  I highly doubt that they put Wade on him since they need his legs fresh for offense.  Deng played 38 minutes last night.  Will he be able to hang with Korver on a back-to-back?  I don't like his chances. 

-Look for Millsap/Horford to have a field day.  Miami's big situation is in shambles as they only have Whiteside/the ghost of Haslem/Anderson.  The Heat have been forced to play small ball and the Hawks bigs can keep up with their small ball defensively while abusing their small ball on offense.

right now I have only entered a medium play.  Going to wait on the rest of the lines to be released for a possible parlay opportunity.  I think Dallas works Brooklyn tonight.  This will end up being a large in someway.

I agree with that analysis as well... Hawks should win easily by at least 8 points tonight.

This line is short. Hawks should be at least -8 against a Miami team that is 10-16 at home. Hawks are also on a back to back and after a competitive game last night, i wouldn't be surprised to see Bud bench some of his starters. Even though he's done a great job managing minutes, they're 9 games ahead in the East and he could easily pull a popovich on a night like this on the road. I think they'll win either way, but I would wait before pulling the trigger because you might get a better line.

Their next game is only on tuesday at home, there's no need to sit anyone today...I think. But let's wait and see...

I would be very surprised if Bud sat players.  He has only done that once so far this year.  The Hawks had a 4 game in 5 night stretch with all 4 games on the road.  Bud rested players vs Philly and Boston in preparation for the big games against Tor and Chi on the back-end of the stretch.  He has had plenty of opportunities to rest players since and he hasn't done so.
