hypothetically speaking,if lebron dominated the entire series, hitting 3 game-winners and averaging 35,10 and 10 while shooting great percentages across the board.......but just about all of his team-mates under-performed and stunk up the joint and they lost the series in game 7,then how is that his fault that he's not a "great champion"???...its purely a matter of circumstance that hes not on a team thats quite good enuff or deep enuff.
see,you seem to take the attitude that about 98% of the morons round here take which is "oh,a player wins titles by himself if hes great enuff"...BOLLOCKS,absolute bollocks!!!..its a team sport, always has been, always will be and unless you are impossibly stupid you will take into account other factors and circumstances surrounding any TEAM victory/loss aside from one players output and influence.
and its awfully strange how threads like this one pop up all of a sudden after cavs surprised folks in the opening set of games...the goal-posts are being moved, the narrative being changed to set up an attack on lebron shud he not get the job done going forwards.
all of a sudden there is almost parity between the teams and cavs support cast is more than capable and you probably will suggest that warriors arent quite as good as advertised also....where-as if you wind the clock back just a week or so the whole world was saying how golden state were the greatest thing in sports history and the cavs were badly over-matched and weak as hell coming from the putrid east....so which is it and just how many times is the script gonna be flipped in order to give lebron a bad rap??
fact is lebron does NOT have a great team with him at all and yes tho it sounds horribly cliche' he definitely is elevating, inspiring and leading them to levels beyond wat their capabilities wud suggest.and i still believe,as per their achievements and all metrics/statistics that the warriors are one heck of a good team(tho their will and belief and composure will be tested now for sure).......do you agree or disagree??
A simpleton no. A simple guy yes. Why be complex when theres no need to? I will give you this sir, you are at least based on your responses clearly a fellow that can stand on his own two feet in stating your "own" opinion and bring some validity and substance to an argument, versus being some sort of fanboy bandwagon, zombie follower that just hops into conversations and mindlessly spewing negativity and empty points, rather just cosigning another posters comments.
Now onward we have clearly had a misunderstanding in points. You have stated pretty much exactly what I believe. The only part that you're missing or failing to see from my perspective is no matter what Lebron does he will never get his just due until he wins a title in Cleveland. Fans make excuses for him, some warranted and others not. But from threads to sports news to and around the NBA community in general, Lebron took a lot of flack for going to Miami to win his championships. It was if he had to defer in order to win. That is still the general consensus and you know it. My point is point is its time to put the excuses to the side and for Lebron to win a title in Cleveland if he is going to get true credibility as an NBA champion great. It just the way it is. Will he still have haters? Of course. But it won't matter . because he won a title on his own team.
As I said before, I am a fan of Lebron and I am definitely not a naysayer to his greatness as a basketball player. But in this world championships count and how you get them matters, in reference to your accomplishments as a player. People are talking smooth now because Lebron is in the finals and he and the Cavs tied up the series. Let the Cavs lose and see how many of these fanboys/girls turncoat and disrespect Lebron in everyway possible. Then he will be a choke artist again or overrated, Lebum, and Queen James again. Not by the haters, but by many of his fickle fans. Its time for the excuses to be put to rest and let Lebron's career play out as it will. I'm not even saying that he has to do it this season, but we all know it is expected of Lebron to win a championship for Cleveland, excuses not included.
And in regards to your last paragraph to put it simply, "yes" I do agree.
