Kobe is the best BASKETBALL player in the league. Lebron James is the best ATHLETE in basketball and perhaps all of sports.
 
Kobe is a closer, Lebron is NOT. Nowhere near as good as Kobe. When Lebron starts finishing off games CONSISTENTLY then he can talked about in the same breath as Kobe.

Having rings has become an over rated stat to a certain extent. Have you ever heard of Shaquille o neil, Robert Horry?? I think those guys may have HELPED win Kobes rings.

I am not even a huge Lebron fan, but we got to remember that this is only his 6th season. Where was Kobe after 5 seasons? As a matter of fact, let's compare the two's first 5 season's against each other and see what we come up with?

*The numbers do not lie. Lebron has better numbers across the board through his first 5 years in the NBA.
**Always remember that it takes a good TEAM to win a championship...which Kobe had and still has and Lebron didn't when he lost and as a matter of fact he still doesn't.

Wow NickyShavers, you sir are an idiot.  This will probably be a never ending debate of who is better between LeBron and Kobe.  But to say that LeBron is nowhere near as good as Kobe is just stupid.  LeBron took a 17 win team and improved it to a 35 win team his first year in the league.  Since then he has taken a team of no buddies to an NBA Finals.  When it is all said and done the debate will be between LeBron and MJ for best ever and Kobe won't be in the picture.  Look at what he did tonight in MSG.  A night after Kobe drops 61 he goes off for a better game of 52 10 and 11.  And don't tell me you would rather have Kobe and his 61 with no rebounds a 3 assits.

People fail to realize LeBron has the better all around game and more efficient offense.

He's the 4th leading average scorer EVER and hes 24.

Kobe wasn't even the best player on the championship team. That was Shaq's team and he played sidekick. LeBron made the finals with Z and Varejao, you don't think he can win with a prime Shaq? Haha.

KOBE is the more reliable than lebron in any situation............free thrown, game wining shots, and knowing how to pull out a close game.....okay lebron got some stats on kobe but still ill take KOBE all day over lebron

lebron does what he does because he has to if he wants his team to win its the truth KOBE can go for 15 pts and still win a game with his team........tell lebron to make only 15pts in a game bet they lose...say u send lebron over to portland i bet he wont have the same stats he has right now
