why lay out such ridiculous challenges anyhow??we all know they never, ever amount to anything...youd be insane to engage a stranger in such an arrangement over the interweb

You have the Cavs -3 (I had it Cavs -4 but knew Vegas would never post such a line).
That is 5 points off the 2 it is at and 7 points off the 4 some people got!
It doesn't get ANY better than that! Not sure how you could be on the Hawks when the line is off 5 to 7 points in your favor!
Actually, that's what made it scary. They aren't posting a line seven points off without purpose. These guys are serious about their work and have more information than anyone. They know their sh*t. Sure they have been wrong and will be again, however way more often than not, they are on the right side.
That's why I was on the other side of you on the Nets/Cavs game. A -9.5 opening was insane, too insane to not notice. Likewise for this Atlanta opening at -4. That line was backwards and like you and I agree, it should have been -4 going the other way.
I know the game is played on the court but sometimes, red flags go off and I know to lay off or even flip sides. I really hoped I was wrong on this one. I'm sure you got loads of haters (I cant read the entire thread unfortunately) but let them go. Simply not worth the time.
It's been a busy week but I will catch you around sooner or later my man. Stay up!

This was a total miss. I am seriously shocked the Cavs let their season ended tonight.
I picked the Cavs twice in 7 games and they won 5 won lost 2. I picked the two losers.
I will lose.
These other teams are dragging me down.Knicks and possibly the Nets only from here on out.
Again I WILL LOSE. My apologies to every one my friends here and other apologies to people who tail but never post or post very little just to say thank you.
I just gotta stick to the Knicks.
I preach expertise on one or two teams and then I go and cap the Cavs.
Terrible loss here. Just dejected right now.
Hitting 63% 14-8 (or whatever you want to contest there) this year and that is not where I want to be as 68/70% is the bar I strive for.
Knicks only and I will post less, much less. I really hope they make the playoffs with their schedule so their is more capping in the playoffs.
Again, my apologies for the money you lost and I know the names who did.
Gotta stay away from Cavs pistons etc. That is clear now.
No need for apologies my man, can't get them all
In the end it's your insight, but our money, like we all know
Keep up the great work, tomorow is new day to make profit

Just to finish my thought, during the Knicks game, for instance, Van Gundy went on a diatribe about Ferry's comments regarding "winning no being the goal." He basically called him out and said this puts a black stain on the entire league. That night the Hawks lost to the Bulls (which everyone expected). But won't they have to give a better effort tonight, against a team they are supposedly fighting against for a playoff spot? If they don't show up then everyone will be talking about the tanking business again. That concerns me and maybe Scal can address it. If I'm right and the Hawks (for appearance sake) give it their all (including the coach) then the only way to justify this bet is to say that the Cavs are the better team period and will win regardless of whether the Hawks are tanking or not. I could certainly buy that argument and would even be willing to put money on it, but maybe not as much as before (since theHawks might try to win just to save face).
Scal, I read the through the harsh comments and I'm sorry. In fact, I was out with a friend tonight and instead of thinking about the money I lost (which can be won again) I was thinking of the bashing you would be taking and felt very sad. I think there is something we can learn from this and it is actually something you taught me: the national embarrassment angle. I think Van Gundy calling the Hawks and Ferry out on national TV did change the playing field for this game. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if, after tonight, the Hawks go back to their tanking ways. But for tonight, after all the talk on TV, they had to show up: the players, the coaches, the franchise. Van Gundy basically questioned the integrity of the league, so even the NBA had a stake in the Hawks winning tonight.

I read through all of these threads and realised that if Scal hadn't done such a great job of writing this up it would just be another thread heading towards the bottom of the pile even if it did win! It'd be easy to say "Orlando & Charlotte Under" and have a few people saying "Yay I won" but that would be it.
However I'm glad in a way these haters lost money on this game because they deserve it! As so many people have quoted its up to YOU to put your own bets on and if you tail someone else and lose then you deserve it if you can't research your own bets.
Again, I support you 100% Scal and look forward to your next write up. Don't lose the faith brother, just ignore the haters! Haters gonna hate especially here I've noticed in a very short amount of time!

Hey Scal -- I capp my own games, though coin-flip or maybe a little above average at best ha ha, but I enjoy sportsbetting. In my long history of sportsbetting (started early 90s -- I think I opened my first offshore account with the first offshore book ever), I have seen few cappers like yourself -- the way you analyze games. And you're one of the cappers I enjoy reading your insights to the games that you capped/played (you and LeagueCapper).
I couldn't help but to chime in with all these posts -- I know I don't have to tell you this, but keep your head up! Much respect, and in my opinion, you're on the same list of proven sports prognosticator as LeagueCapper, KAYLE, DAVIDN, FearTheWeb, LVTruck (to name a few).

Scal doesn't listen to reasoning like this lol...he knows more than anyone in the world about sports betting. I mean hes 14-9 for christs sake! Theres no such thing as a shady line in Scal's eyes. So the way he thinks is this...Oh the much better team is getting 4 points when they should be laying 4?? no red flag there, let me put together a 4 page write up and get the whole forum on board

Less than 50% winner in leagues long term. I think that says everything about champs authoritativeness

Meanwhile, last week was probably top 5 best weeks I've ever had capping and I been doing this sht 15+ years chump..so good luck with your next writeup, who's next up to cap? the sixers?

Nope im a selfish bastid, fkk you guys!! I don't need to pump up my ego like these wannabee touts on here chief. The main goal is beating my bookie, and that sir, is the ONLY Thing that matters. Being "cool" on a site full of beerbelly losers is the last thing I care about. But then there's you, think you know everything when in reality, you don't know sht!! Lines 101 and your punkass fell right in!!! And your loyal minions threw their welfare checks on it too. Meanwhile I slammed a 6 team ML parlay that paid me +190 and I didn't sweat any game involved. Winning is all that matters, and when douche bags like you spend hours writing up mumble jumble and take all the accolades when you win, you frail females get all butt hurt when you lose and people call you out. Get over yourself!!
