thats a F*#@IN masterpiece once again,scalabrine......not much to add,in agreement and was already eye-balling this even before realising wat is truly going on with atlanta...hadnt heard those reports and comments and have been very surprised at just how bad they have been in this stretch.
not sure if anyone else notices this but speaking broadly the hawks seem to more often than not get extremely bloated home lines as favourites...this has stuck out to me for quite a long time and i hardly ever back them as home faves and tho i dont know their ATS record in that spot i dare say it wouldnt be great going back 2 seasons or so....they win their fair share but wudnt be covering the sumtimes absurd spreads they get i wud think....anyhow i just mention this to give weight to the notion that it wudnt be in the least bit surprising(to me at least) if cavaliers were given +4 or even more.
in general, seems awfully strange tho that books arent really catching on to wat the cavaliers have been achieving of late..they still seem to be seen as simply a rag-tag bunch of over-achieving scrappers that just get by on spirit and determination and are lucky to be in most games.........where-as in reality they are performing like one of the hottest tickets around,as detailed in your write-up.and of course being fueled by desperation dont hurt neither.
wat exact point in time do you believe the notion of flagging the season occured to this organisation scalabrine???.....for the longest time they have just been stuck in no-mans land, too good to ever miss the playoffs(and hence have a shot at a good lottery pick)..but yet too incomplete to ever seriously challenge for even an eastern conference championship.and this season seemingly shaped up in pretty much the same way, with a solid sort of squad looking at another playoff berth in the horrible east........with horford intact in the middle and no serious injuries to speak of is there any chance that this would be happening rite now???and so was there a point in time where it was decided-"this is a lost season anyhow, lets try a different route"...and wen was that??they stayed pretty strong after horford went down for quite a while....then the injuries.
pretty safe to say that a core line-up of horford, milsap, antic, korver, teague, lou williams and brand cudnt miss the playoff cut even if they tried in the weak, weak east....so was it simply circumstance and fate in the form of health/injuries that changed the direction of their season and forced their hand as they saw it??
Agree with the hawks lines comment.
They are an above average team these past 7 years and that is all.
Can't fault them for not challenging in the east.
Why? No true big star wants to play in Atlanta (JJ is not a star by any stretch).
Therefore they have to build through the draft and get good but not great free agents.
Result? Get knocked out in the second round over and over and they can't help it.

I noticed Heritage has yet to release a line on the Cavs ; though Pinny has dropped to +2 >>> the value with the points seems to be fading <<< as a Cleveland ML seems like a sure-fire move at this point Scal... =^=

i love it scal... the only players that scare me on the hawks are korver and teague because they usually give it there all and teague can be a tough matchup he is a very good scorer. we all know korver doesnt miss 3's either. but on the real the cavs want this more and should win this game. there is also some revenge for this cavs team, i bet them earlier in the season when these 2 teams matched up in cleveland and the the hawks won by 1 point as jeff teague hit a game winner in double overtime. cavs covered but atl won straight up. i think the cavs handle the hawks in this one im right there with you

Korver and Teague will play hard. They truly do give a shi*. It's the others who will play harder than last game, but there is more talent and a season on the line on the other side which will result in a stronger Cavs showing.
Remember, hawks are two up on the Cavs, not one and in the hawks eyes, Knicks have a tough game tonight.
And the hawks have some layups remaining against the bucks pistons celtics to make up for it if they lose.
They have played the fewest games of the Knicks Cavs and hawks trio.
They actually have a game to spare. Not so with the Cavs!
The game is in Atl. That is the only thing the hawks have going here.
The Cavs would really pulverize the hawks if it were in Cleveland in this spot. But with this, we get points??? Wow!

Scal how sure is this pick and other than cavs, what you think i can bet i need to chase my down i still have 30mins to bet
Only other game I like tonight is the Knicks.
Because I have a line of 2 and not 4, I am making this 3.5 stars. +4 is 'wet myself' territory and even if something went awry (it most certainly shouldn't) we'd still have 4 to beat them. 2 is not a line
so the line functions as a ML.
So this is 3.5 stars but still a strong side!
