Kobe has already passed the stage in his career where he has to do what Lebron is doing. If you want Kobe to score 50, he will. He is more worried about improving his team right now. He will never rebound like Lebron and honestly the Cavs offense doesnt start unless Lebron touches the ball. While the Lakers offense runs through Kobe as well. You see him drop it in the post and go set a screen for someone else to get open. Lebron drops it in the post and knows he is going to get the ball back. Lebron has more chances to look good. Kobe is still king.

Gotta agree here...if your looking for whose better, being a clutch performer has to be part of it and nobody, and I mean NOBODY in the NBA today is more clutch than Kobe Bryant. He can have a group of studs, duds, or all-stars on his team and reguardless, he'll be the one with the ball when down by 1-2 points in any game. Everyone knows it, and the funny thing is, thats including the other team and they can't do a thing about it. LeBron can be stopped because he doesn't have a great outside shot. He's a playmaker for sure, but when it comes down to the final shot... Come on now, Kobe is the best.

at the end of the year, Lebron will be 1st team all NBA... Kobe won't... and my case will be rested...
 
if this discussion is about who is a better individual defender, or about who you want to have the ball with 10 seconds to go, then Kobe is the answer... but if it is about who is the most dominant all around player (on both ends of the court) in the NBA, the answer is Lebron...
 
as ALWAYS, i don't look at the past... i anticipate the future... and from here (today) forward, the best player in the NBA is Lebron... just like at the start of the year i said Eli Manning was behind only Peyton and Tom Brady among the best QBs in the country, while everyone else laughed, i was saying before the Olympics that Lebron has taken the reigns from Kobe... and 8 games proved that it was true, and this season is continuing the proof...

Just stop man. You sound stupider by the minute. Kobe last 3 years FIRST TEAM ALL DEFENSE, lebron, not even 2nd. And all of a sudden, he's a better defender than Kobe?
 Ice4blood. You sound ridiculous. In order for Lbj to be better than Kobe overALL, he'd have to be WAYYY better offensively than Kobe, and he just isnt. He's barely better, IF that.......because Kobe is way better defensively.

hypothetically if they both had identically skilled teams, give me lebron. but there are just so many factors that nobody can really justify who's better until it's all set and done.

If Lebron couldnt drive to the basket the way he does, he wouldnt even be brought up, he'd be a decent basketball player.
 
If Kobe didnt drive to the basket, he'd still be one of the best defenders in the nba, one of the best midrange jump shooters in the nba, and one of the most clutch nba players today.
 
LEBRON is only better at driving to the basket and passing, and it isnt really arguable. Does anyone disagree with me here? I feel like im talking to my fishes.

sometimes chris paul outrebounds lebron....[statistically of course]....now im not saying he's a better rebounder because he isnt....but that says ALOT about chris paul...
 
i always find it amazing when people like him [or jason kidd for a better example, or rondo when he triple doubled with 10+boards] get over 10boards in a game.....i mean i know the ball bounces off the rim right to ya sometimes...but rondo or paul getting 11boards is pretty damn good even if it is only a handful oftimes a season...[jason kidd more..]

If the team has lebron (and of course great support players like odom, gasol, and bynum.) you won't be reaching close games that will take buzzer beaters to win. give lebron a good assist PG and a PF/C like gasol. (or like the knicks said.. Bosh) I bet every game they'll have will be -15.

the king owns him and shows kobe cant guard him in a million years
 
when kobe had stuff all help how far did he get the lakers - nowhere
lebron single handedly carried his team to the NBA FINALS
 
ask yourself this career wise who is better kobe or duncan?

Last year when this cam up I was on Kobe. Its time for a new leader and his name is Lebron. He is taking over the game, taking it to a new level in Cleveland. Might it stop at a NBA Championship?
