Here is your assignment. Go look at the starting 5 for the Nuggets.
Guys, JJ Hickson is starting at forward. This was a throwaway guy on an injured Blazers team last year. Then you have that dope Javalle who's head is still in the clouds (did you see him piggyback thay guy on opening night???). Ty Lawson, their best, has a strained groin but will likely play. Randy Foye and Anthony Randolph? Nothing to write home about there.
Last game, Aldridge and Lillard played at all-star levels for the Blazers. That was a HUGE positive. No one else contributed which lead to a loss.
The concern is Batum, Lopez, Wesley Matthews and Mo Williams. Also Dorell Wright needs to show up.
They will this game.
Forget the horror show that the Blazers are in Denver (lost 18 of 19).
Denver looked bad against a mediocre Kings team in their first game.
The MAIN REASON you can take the Blazers here is because of rookie coach Brian Shaw.
He transformed Denver's offense from one that pushes tempo and is fast paced to one that relies heavily on half-court sets, and smothering defense. That's a big transition to swallow in your first two games, Home or Away and takes a lot of time to adjust to. Two games isn't enough.
I say they are not ready, the roster is depleted/injured/unimpressive and they get a 'mad as hell' Blazer team who have to open up at home against the Spurs the following night.
You don't want to open against the Spurs at 0-2, on a 15-game losing streak looking half-as$ed the way you did last season.
Home court advantage in the thin air? Not so much in this spot.
The Suns loss was due to Dragic, Bledsoe, Plumlee playing out of their minds, in addition to many other role players stepping up. It was a tsunami of solid basketball with a team that runs and guns (a much easier system embraced by new faces/current players) and the Blazers could never recover.
They will here.
And it's Moneyline time:
BLAZERS +165
To all those who lost on my previous pick, the ML will win it back and then some.
Fade me if you like but it's all coming back my way tonight.
Rip City...

i'm shying away from this game. but in your last play you forgot about the blazers dismal history in phoenix. HISTORY IS A SIGNFICANT PART OF how i cap nba, especially recent history. portland's also lost 14 in a row with essentially the same team. but i ADMIRE that your sticking with your beliefs and bert of luck to you. Portland looked good against an emerging in his third year DeMarcus Cousins.

Steven, tell the forum how the team that lost 13 in a row at the end of last year IS ESSENTIALLY THE SAME TEAM this year. I'd love to hear your answer as would everyone else.
Also tell the forum how history is a significant part of how you cap and:
A) you fail to know the history of the Blazers through the last 14 games, nevermind a full season or several
and
B) the Blazers have a far worse history in Denver than they did in Phoenix but you are casually laying off this one. If history plays a SIGNIFICANT part in how you cap, Denver is your bread and butter tonight.
Best of luck, but bring more than just off the cuff remarks into a thread that have little substance and/or are completely untrue.

@Bad boy, fade my compick hard please. It'll be the last time you run your mouth here, because the amount you lose will close your useless trap like a garage door.

i took Blazers, then horrible Basketball. i'm a sort of fan of them, then i can not take them until i watch Lopez & Nic Batum will show up. Batum took a lof or Rbs, however he should be a guy that can hit timely 3-pointer and some jumpers. if he had done, they could have taken that game. Plumlee dominated the board, Lopez was a joke. anyway GL to you.

'Blazers have lost 18 of the last 19 meetings in the Mile High City, including both last season when they dropped all three matchups with the Nuggets.'

Which Denver team? The one now without Gallo and Andre and JJ Hickson as a starter???
You're betting on thin air to win your bet?
Did you hear what I said about Brian Shaw? No.
This is the typical losing capper people. Mindless drones who do no research and use the most frivolous of evidence to counter a stance they don't like.
Follow him or follow me.
Look at his post and my post and you choose who knows more about these teams and the NBA in general.
Again, a GREAT CAPPER will lose 45 out of 100 games and win 55. You wanna say ONE loss stains a capper go right ahead.
But if you wanna join Mr. Burning money bags here, I feel for ya. I really do.

I'm not wasting my time again reading all your hot garbage. Your last post stated you waited something like 5 months for the blazers to roll into phoenix on opening night and be victorious. What kind of nonsense???
All I see is you are on the ML.. You are TOAST. I will be back to bow down if I am wrong. No worries. But it WONT HAPPEN. Blazers have NO CHANCE, and if any9ne follows this A.D.D. bum you are a fool.

Losing capper?? For and on the record, I sweep friday nights in the NBA for breakfast. Sad, this idiot will have a dozen pages of posts on this moronic thread. Especially after he lost half his roll on 5 months of dreaming blazers.

How do you know the Blazers are "mad as hell" about losing to the Suns? You would think they would be mad as hell at some point during their losing streak, but they haven't. In fact you could make a case that they just don't give a $hit about losing game after game after game on the road.
You could make a case that the Nuggets would be mad as hell about losing to the lowly Kings and would like nothing more than to crush the listless Blazers in their home on their home opener for their new coach's first win.
Let's go Darwin

@kimoins- what do you think their reaction is losing to a team that has a projected 19 wins for the season and traded their starting center and some of their bench right before the season started, to go get a pedicure?
They are mad.
“You should be mad and everybody is definitely mad about what happened (Wednesday) night,” LaMarcus Aldridge said. “We’re better than that. You don’t ever want to lose a game, no matter what the circumstances are. But we know we can do better. And we will (Friday) night.”
You want to measure the darkness of crimson in their face for 'madness' level? What more do you want other than a quote from their star.
Why are the Nuggets mad as hell? Are they on a losing streak? Are the kings even close to as bad as the suns? Are the Blazers implementing a new system under a new coach with a learning curve to deal with?
For god sakes man, bring more than that....
