Dolphins sucked as they usually do in big games. Brady didn't even break a sweat. I'm a dolphins fan and knew they had ZERO chance of covering or even winning this game. Until Marino Jr. arrives, fish are dead in water. Find a new GM too.

Brady was smiling on the sidelines. Dolphins ended up in tuna cans. Was truly sad.

Suh is trash. 2 tackles tonight. Do you need any more information?I said signing him was a mistake. Like Albert Haynesworth, he gets his ca$h and he quits.
He didn't show up, but the real problem in this game was the offense, like I said thus game was completely over with when the dolphins held them to punts 4 posessions in a row and converted that into exactly zero points. I'm through with the tannehill excuses, he was awful tonight, so was the o line, playcalling , and every other facet of this team other than landry, who shows up every week

Ju'Wuan James going down early definitely was a blow, but so was the play-calling. First drive: RT starts with two accurate first down completions. You have to keep them coming then to get momentum by atleast a score - no they try to feed Miller against that front seven (running on Jason Fox didnt really work) or try those fakes. Just air it out.
But no excuses, the Pats did one heck of a job and the Fins weren't the Fins.

Again you guys, and your offensive line excuses for the reason this offense sucks. You realize the patriots were using undrafted rookies the entire game to block suh and, wake right? There comes a time where you have to just admit that your organization is trash, and garbage. The dolphins are a dysfunctional organization that overpaid for a cancer and gave him 60 million guaranteed. It seems like if tannehill doesn't have an o line full of probowlers he's unable to function. Has it occurred to you that he just sucks??

There's only 3 teams capable of beating the pats in the afc barring a major injury. Those are the jets (at home with a healthy Chris ivory) , Cincinnati (imo it's absolutely vital for this team to get home field advantage, and the steelers because if Bens healthy that's a team that can score 30 on anyone. Denver has all the talent on earth but I can't consider them as a serious threat to new England because they simply would have way too many three and outs and put too much pressure on their defense, which will eventually wear down just as miami did tonight.

What have you seen to make you believe he can "just air it out"? I've watched every game for 3.5 years. Not doubt he has improved on a year-to-year basis, but he is still struggling with things that at this point in his career he should not be. Asking to become slinger would be a disaster. It's great against a lower tier defense and we've seen him look brilliant against Ten, Oak (last year) and in other games. He still doesn't have a great feel in the pocket, lacks deep ball accuracy, and gets hung up on reads and when he has to come off them its at the expense of his accuracy. Guys an average qb. Good enough to win with but not someone who will elevate a team.

When they're playing teams better than Houston and Tennessee they're true colors come out. Very talented team with a bad qb, clear to see. Not sure how anyone can think Tannehill could possibly lead a team to anything better than 9-7. Sure he's not Kirk Cousins or Blake Bortles but he isn't good by any stretch. Draft a frickin quarterback and you'll be a playoff team not that difficult to figure out.
Well he beat the Pats 2 of the last 3 times. Beat Russell Wilson and the Hawks and was 1 play away from beating Rodgers. So you are entitled to your opinion but I disagree. You are aware this isn't his first year in the NFL right. That he threw 27 Tds and 4000 yards last year and has beaten some really good teams in his career. Draft a QB and Dolphins will be great lol you are right. Christian Hackenberg can't beat Temple, but he is ready to go beat Pats in foxboro. LOL appreciate the laugh.
Was an ugly, embarassing game. It was more about the Pats being on point than the Dolphins struggling. Once I saw Dion Lewis was playing without limitations, I really did figure this game was going to be a loss. I saw he was doubtful wednesday and then plays thursday. I just assumed if he did play he wasn't going to be healthy. That dude is a stud. I loved him at Pitt and then he disapeered. Once I saw him pop up on NE week 1 I was very upset. Texted some of my friends how good that guy was, and under BB he can be elite.
Jawaun James injury did hurt but Dolphins weren't winning this game with him. I've accepted the loss, but the injury to Wake really makes me hurt on the inside. Just indescribale how good of a player he is and person. I said at the beginning of the year Dolphins only shot not to make the playoffs was injury to 1 of their top 5 players. Well they are 0-3 without Albert, 3-1 when relatively healthy. Without Wake it will be very tough to make the playoffs but the 2nd wild card is up for grabs. It will be tough but making the playoffs is never easy.
As for Tannehill, he had a bad game. Tough to throw the team on your back when you can't run the ball and are facing a BB defense. He made some really nice throws (like that one on the run to Cameron to the 1 yard line) but obviously didn't do nearly enough. As to the guy who said O-line can't be an excuse for poor play because Pats overcome it. Dude, uhhh. Tom Brady? Comeon man, don't be an idiot for the sake of being one.
To the people who do nothing but hate, it doesn't bother me. My friends give it to me a lot worse. Budweiser pops in to rip on SUH 'like he said' a week after one of his best games of his career. Just hard to respect someone who only pops up when things go their way and disapeer when things aren't. Such is life. Thanks to all the people who keep it real in this thread. Even those who disagree but don't act like they know it all.
It was a depressing night for the Fins and their fans (one of many over the last 15 years). Got nothing but respect for the Pats. They are playing with a chip on their shoulder. The only way a team is beating them if Lewis, Gronk and Brady stay healthy is an ELITE secondary. Only chance. This game won't define the Dolphins season. Still think they can grab the 2nd WC as an 8-8 or 9-7 team. They just aren't on the Pats level on the road with injuries and Pats playing lights out. Good thing is they have 9 games left and only 1 vs Pats.
Win or lose I will be here. Embarassed about my play and how they played but there is always a tomorrow. Came wake injury really hurts me though, and not to mention my over future bet with him. 7 sacks in 3 games and won't reach 10. smh, just smh.

he's not a bad QB, he's above average, which in the current NFL is pretty good.
Dont even bother man. Pretty much done trying to defend Tannehill to people. It is what it is at this point. He is one of the best 10-12 QBs on planet earth but it will never be enough. Dude has one of the best games in NFL history and people can't acknowledge it, but best believe when he struggles they will be here to tell you how bad he is. Props to Mafioso tho for having respect after some of the things he has said about RT17. I respect guys like that. This is sports, we are all right and wrong about a lot. Some people can't handle being wrong once their mind is made up.

One last thing I truly apologize if anyone lost money solely backing my read on the Fins. I could not get on to say how much Dion Lewis playing would affect this game if he was 100%. I really felt good about this game until that 3rd and 16 screen on the first drive. Once that happen and I saw Lewis scamper my whole mood/outlook changed. Dramatically.

I'm not saying Tannehill is the reason they lost as bad as they did. I'm just saying he'll never lead a team to anything better than 9-7. He's not horrible but not very good. And trust me. I do not think they should draft Hackenburg. Ive watched that kid play and he is horrible. That'll be the bust of the century. It'll be funny when Bill O Brien takes him, since his opinions on what a good qb is has been pretty laughable.

let's call it a compromise. tannehill isn't a 6-7 win qb, but he's not a 13-14 win qb either. he's a solid 10-11 win guy who can get you a wc or so every year. fins aren't what they showed against the texans and titans but not what they were yesterday against the pats either. they can still salvage something from this season and i believe they can under the new coach

I popped in here preseason and said SUH was a bad move. Maybe you don't remember.
I started a thread in the middle of the season saying SUH sucks, that the coaches will get the blame.
It's hard for me to believe after 2 tackles and being single-teamed, you don't see what I see.
He came to Miami for a paycheck. He's not playing hard, he would rather sit at home and watch reruns of Sanford and Son or some bs.

Dion Lewis or not they still get their *sses kicked
Believe what u want. My love of a team stopped years ago. I can't even remember when I had a favorite team. Maybe when I was a kid, naive as to the power of sports teams.

Well, in my opinion you guys want Tannehill to be Andy Dalton and I don't think he'll ever be that good. I never thought I'd say that because Dalton is a playoff choker but he's a good QB who really only needed to work on cutting down the interceptions. This year he's taken that leap. Tannehill needs to work on a few things and it's unlikely he'll ever improve enough on them.

It's just amazing that the Patriots dressed only 6 offensive linemen, their right tackle is now the left tackle, the right tackle is the 3rd string left tackle and they lost their starting right guard last night.
Yet, they still open holes for the runners, protect Brady, don't take motion penalties, and are all on the same page when the team starts their tempo changes.
Just awesome coaching. It may not be rocket science, but to the majority of NFL coaches, apparently it is.
No need to bash the Dolphins here. The Patriots are on a different planet right now.

Hackenburg is absolute garbage, I've watched him suck royally for years now at Penn state and I just don't understand the hype from tools like Mel kiper. But don't worry O'Briens not going to get the chance to screw that up as I think it's a near lock he will get fired at the end of the year

Aloha my brutha our team seem to be going in the wrong direction The defense allowed two 100 yard rushers in that Bills game
unless something drastic changed since that Bills game I'm afraid to see how the Dolphins defense can handle the High Tempo Eagles offense. I'm looking forward to Jay Ajayi sharing some carries with Miller to keep the run game relevant.
Anyway brutha good luck on your wagers and the Dolphins this weekend

This thread def deserves a bump. Miami in a good situation this upcoming week. Last 6 games, 4 are at home to make a run at 2nd WC Berth.
Really interested in your thoughts, Earth. Appreciate it buddy
What makes you think this team has anything in them to make a playoff run? The coach is in over his head. The qb will be a backup in 2 years. The starting rb is a marginal talent. Grimes has lost a step. The team knows house will be cleaned once the season is over. Playing for pride or whatever isn't what this about.

Ryan Tannehills words after the game pretty much summed it up. It is extremely tough to look at the situation and accept they are a 4-7 team. Injuries are obviously a huge issue, but every single team has injuries. Thats not an excuse, thats just reality. Miami Dolphins are not a good team with guys like Nevill Hewitt, Walt Aiken, and Jason Fox starting at key positions.
The Dolphins have a lot of problems, but their biggest is offensive line. 9 carries for 12 yards yesterday. That has to be a joke. That falls all on Lazor and offensive line. Miami's secondary is terrible. Grimes seems to be dropping off due to injury/old age/both. The only player I like is reshad Jones and maybe Lippet. Everyone else can go. The linebackers aren't good, and the Dline isnt the same without Wake.
The defense is not really the reason they are losing though. You can only do so much when your offense punts 10 times a game. Miami was on pace to be one of the worst third down teams in NFL history. Then at one point on sunday they were 0/10. The offesnive line can't block. The QB can't get a rhythm and the offense can't do anything until garbage time. They have a lot of problems on both sides of the ball. Some large, some small.
Now for Ryan Tannehill. I'm a realist. 27-32 record is not good. He does so many good things but I am growing tired of the dumpdowns on 3rd and long. The play calling and execution has been bad this year most games. A lot of that blame falls on Lazor and Tannehill. I certainly think Tannehill can be the future of this franchise, but the last 6 weeks I'm beginning to see that he could easily not be. I only want Tannehill to be replaced if I think that player is better though, not just for the sake of change. I would not be against drafting a QB and working him towards the futur, but this is still Tannehills team. This would not even be an issue if he did not spend 4 years with some of the worst offensive lines in NFL history, but such is life. His mediocre play combined with bad line play and play calling, and a weak secondary is why this team is 4-7. I said going into the year how Jamar Taylor plays will be the main thing that determines how good their secondary is. Turns out, hes awful, and so is the secondary.
What a crazy year for the NFL. Who would have guessed the Dolphins, Ravens, Eagles, Cowboys, and Chargers would be a combined 13-37. Not me

Not me
