2015 Miami Dolphins thread

@Drsuccess: This honestly might be my biggest bet of the year week 1 for a few reasons. The Dolphins are undervalued, Skins are one of there easiest games on the schedule, they always play well week 1 and they play better on the road than home. A lot can happen in a month, but week 1 should be a monster play.

If you guys only listen to one thing I say all year, make it this. If you are in a PPR league you MUST draft Jarvis Landry. This guy should hit 90 catches, 1000 yards and 10 TDs. If he doesn't hit those numbers he will be close. This guy is the absolute real deal. I promise you will not 1 time this year say to yourself. "Why did I draft Landry." Game in game out he will be putting up 5-8 catches, 60-80 yards and a TD. He is a STEAL

They have some depth.

Depth at DL: Fede, Mitchell, Douglass, Shelby

Depth at CB: Mccain #1, Mccain #2, Bowman, Will Davis

Depth at WR: Rishard Matthews, Jennings, and Byrd.

They just cant have an injury to one of their 6 most important players. Tannehill, Albert, Grimes, Suh, Wake, Pouncey. Not many teams in the NFL can absorb an injury to their QB or best player on offense or defense. So while Miami depth could be a problem. To say they have absolutely no depth ( when they have one of the deepest DLs in football) is a bit off in my opinion.

Grimes will be on Jackson, so if anyone is going to have a big day it might be Garcon with Jamar Taylor. Jackson is definitely a deep threat so he might have one bomb. I trust Grimes a lot though.  I am also wondering how he will perform with his shoulder injury.

Good luck this season. Not much I disagree with on the writeup. 

Looks like we have or first Dolphins hater in Rudy. No worries, there are always a few. The Dolphins have 8 million in cap space right now, and a single person in their front office who deals strictly with the contract aspect of players. The only notable Dolphins who are UFA after this season are Delmas, Miller, and OV. Miami most likely will not be able to bring only 1 of those 3 backs, most likely Delmas because his injury. Not exactly accurate to describe the Dolphins as a cap casulty. They won't be able to sign the best player in the NFL on defense like they did this year, but they are hardly hamstrung by the cap. You're 0/2.

@JerryWrasse: I worded that kinda wrong. What I meant is he should have very similar numbers to ODB this year. Which I believe to be true. Most of the hype from ODB was because of the catch. He is a great receiver though.

Big Side note is that Kenny Stills returned to practice today (and had the best practice of the day) according to Omar Kelly. Also Brandon Albert took reps with the second team offense today which is a monster step back from his recovery. He should be back week 1, but if not he will be back surely by week 3 which is their first tough game against the Bills.

I will not be betting the preseason the rest of the year. Too much guesswork to me.

I would guess than Tannehill is going to play 2 possesions. Matt Moore is going to play until halftime and then the third string. Miami 3rd and 4th string QB are garbage. This is just my best guess on playing time though because I haven't found anything definite. Gun to my head I would bet Dolphins FH or Panthers Full game, but again I don't feel strong about either. The Dolphins have 2 practices with the Panthers prior to the game, so if I was going to wager on the game I would watch those practices carefully, but thats just me. I really don't have a feel on the game. The Dolphins first team I'd rate a (B+ or A-) and second team (B to B+.) 3rd and 4th string terrible though I would give them close to an F. Take that for what its worth.

Yeah its pretty tough to defend Philbin. I do have alittle faith left in him though. My biggest complaint was how he handled Tannehill situation week 3 last year. I mean it could be a blessing in disguise because after Tannehill was almost benched (even though he had 4 TDs / 2ints at the time) He came out with one of the best first halves of his career. If you take the opinion on Tannehill after that KC game from most people and compare it to now, it is night and day. Hell, Tannehill is on the sports illustrated fantasy cover. So maybe it was the right move by Philbin. I am not thrilled with his in-game management but he does do a great job of getting points in the final 2 minutes of the first half. Still, I really like what their OC Lazor brings to the table. I'm willing to give Philbin 1 more chance, but this is it. No playoffs and he is 10000% gone.

Yeah, Albert tore his ACL last year week 8. He was projected to be back by week 1. It will be very close. He is literally doing more every single day. Right now to me it seems like 80% chance he plays week 1.

Bad news with Delmas tearing his ACL. He has played his last snap as a Miami Dolphin. He is a FA and won't be back. Good player but can't stay healthy. Like I've been saying all thread the Dolphins secondary is pretty deep. Walt Aiken will fill in. Id Rate Delmas a B+ and Aiken a C+. Definitely, Definitely sucked seeing Delmas injury though. Above average player and leader.

Also want to pass on what I've been reading about how dominant Suh is. Dolphins coaching staff has said they can't evaluate the O-line properly because its not fair with Suh. The Panthers OL was joking with Dolphins OL how much it would suck to go against him everyday. Also OV got into a fight with a Panthers player during practice, and the next play Suh lined up infront of him and drove him into the backfield. Pretty insignificant, but Suh has completely changed the feel of this team and locker room. The last two years the Dolphins completely went soft towards the end of the season. They went from one of the leagues best defense after week 11 to allowing 36 points a game and almost 200 yards  on the ground the final 6 games. Their biggest problem was they were soft. Amazing how much 1 player can change the culture. Watching Wake and Suh this upcoming season will be incredible.

Brent Grimes recently talked about why the defense fell off. He said he didn't want to make excuses but he said injury, missed tackeling and a bunch of little things went wrong. Thats an understatement. You can literally pinpoint the play that ended the Dolphins season...Week 12, Dolphins up 28-17 vs Broncos (on this series is when Jamar Taylor got injured for the year.) It was 4th and 1, last play of the 3rd quarter and the Broncos are going for in from about the Dolphins 40 yard line. CJ Anderson pops off a monster run, and the rest is history. If the Dolphins stop that 4th and 1 play, the season could have turned out much, much different. But, we will never know.

@dolphan: QBs in the NFL get too much credit when the team wins, and too much blame when they lose. Such is life. Wasn't Tannehills fault they allowed the Lions to walk down the field to win on a last second TD. Wasn't Tannehills fault they allowed two fouth down converions, and a fake spike to lose to the Packers in the final seconds. Wasn't Tannehills fault Dolphins blew a 28-17 lead in the fourth quarter vs Denver. Wasn't Tannehills fault Geno Smith threw for almost 400 yards on them..but If Miami doesn't blow 1 or 2 of those games. Tannehill's numbers would look amazing with a 10-6 record....Pumped I am going to their week 1 game in Washington. It really reminds me of week 4 last year vs Oakland (my biggest bet on a Dolphins game all year) when they came out and destroyed Oakland. For some reason I have absolutely no doubt they take care of business week 1. Is it a lock, hell no but that play has so much +ev its insane. We will look back later this year and laugh the Dolphins were -2 vs the Redskins.

As Usual, Suuma is right. Just saw that RG3 was hit on 6 of his 8 drops backs tonight. Suh, Wake and OV are going to have a meeting at the QB early and often.

This game has BLOWOUT CITY written all over it. Get your money down now folks, the line will hit -3.5 by kickoff and maybe higher.
