2015 Miami Dolphins thread

I didn't have time to watch this game, I will tomorrow but wow I could not be happier with how this team is playing.

Offense: Tannehill is sharp as can be. Has completed 82% of his passes so far and has lead touchdown drives on 3 out of 4 possesions. Miller did not do much on the ground but he did catch a 35 yard pass. Tannehill was dumping balls off and taking what the defense gave him. Landry had 4 catches for 20 yards on 2 drives. Again, he will KILL it this year in PPR leagues. The guy I want to talk about though is Damien Williams. I said earlier in the thread he kind of reminds me of Reggie Bush because he has a lot of shake and bake to him. He has a touchdown catch, and a touchdown run. He would have had a 3rd touchdown but he fumbled reaching for the pylon. He has a lottt of potenial and right now he is the 2nd or 3rd RB. This team has weapons at every position, and some on the bench. The OL has also been looking a lot better. Dallas Thomas has been getting a lot of praise. Has looked better in practice and that is huge. The OL is the only question mark on this team and the only thing (besides injury) that can keep them out of the playoffs. Going against the DLine everyday in practice is obviously helping.

Defense: The Dolphins defense should have four 3 and outs in 4 possesions. (Except they had a penalty on the one third down in game 1.) So if you are counting the Dolphins would be up 21-0 on the team they were playing right around halftime. Obviously kidding, but again it is time to realize the Miami Dolphins are for real. Also the guy who I've been talking up a lot Jamar Taylor had a sick jump in front pick. His play from the #2 CB spot will be very, very important.

Side note if you didn't see. The Dolphins and Panthers had a joint practice the other day, and the Panthers coaches asked the Dolphins Dline to take it easy on them so they could work on a few things. If that doesn't show you how dominant their Dline is, what will?

Great News: Brandon Albert is practicing today for the first time all year with no restraints. This ups the chance he plays week 1 from 80% to almost 100%. Great news.

Good News: The two guys batteling for the replacement of Louis Delmas (Walt Aiken and Michael Thomas) were very active when on the field against the Panthers. Both guys are NFL level starters which will make the transition from Delmas injury not so bad.

Bad News: Miami's # 2 CB, Jamar Taylor who's biggest nemesis is injury. (Had missed roughly 15 games the last 2 years with Fluke injuries) injured his quad in the game against Carolina and will miss roughly 2 weeks. He should be ready for week 1, but this guy needs to stay healthy. He is the 5th or 6th most valuable player to this defense.

Also, the week 1 line has already gone to Dolphins -3 (-120) and I definitely expect it to go to 3.5 and possibly 4.

Ladies and Gentleman, Ryan Tannehill.

I would say that he is ready for the regular season.

Brandon Albert is out the first two weeks, and will be back week 3, vs Buffalo...which is subject to change for better or worse.

I won't say they don't need him week 1 and 2....but they won't, (@ wash, @ jax) aslong as Pouncey plays. He says that he won't miss any games, but we will see. No news is good news as of now. I'm sure they will update tomorrow.

Would much rather have Albert wait till he is 100% healthy. I will be really surprised if they don't start 2-0. If both Pouncey and Albert don't play week 1 and 2, Miami would still be 1-1 at worst. The strength of their defense would win them atleast 1 of those games. They need to get those guys healthy for the week 3 game vs Buffalo. That Dline is obviously nasty.

The regular season needs to get here.

Albert still has not been ruled out for week 1. He is practicing today with the first team today. It really seems like he could play if he HAD to, but no point rushing him back for as we both know should be a blowout.

I would bet if they were playing New England week 1, Albert would be in.

I am itching for one of the sites I use to release player props for the season. There should be some layups on Tannehill like last year, and props on Jarvis Landry. There is zero doubt in my mind that Landry becomes a household name and looked upon as one of the NFL's best receivers. Only injury will prevent that.

Like I said nothing has been decided about Albert. I have no idea why it came out he would not be back till week 3. He is literally day-to-day so he could definitely be available week 1. I would put it around 50/50 and we will know more right before game time.

Devante Parker absolutely killed the summer OTAs which is why they decided to let him have his foot screw corrected. They were so impressed with him they knew he could skip mini camp and still have a productive year. I personally think they will hold him out week 1, but with or without him I am not worried one bit about week 1. He is going to be a monster though. 6'5 and can jump and highpoint the ball really well. Just another weapon for Tannehill to play with..With Landry, my words can't describe how good he is and can be. This guy is going to be a superstar and there is no doubt in my mind about it. 100 catches, 1100 yards and 10 TDs should be hit by him. (85 catches his rookie year only starting 13 games)

As for the line, I've been saying for weeks to bet on the Dolphins (especially when it was at 2.5 which I got) because the line is going to just keep going up and up. The Redskins are an absolute joke/mess and Miami had arguably the best pre-season of any starters in the NFL. (Tannehill 33-41 for 300 yards and 3 TDs) and the starting defense basically went almost 4 quarters and held their opponents to only 3 points (and that was because of a botched punt snap)

The line could easily hit -6 by gametime. It is just going to keep going, but like Suuma said I would pound anything under 6.5 to death. This game has 38-7 written all over it.

Landry is an EXTREMELY dangerous return man. Evertime he touches the ball it looks like he is going to score. He runs up and catches the ball at full speed on punts and kicks as good as anyone I have ever seen. In my thread last year I predicted a few times that he would go to the house. He got close, but never did. I am not sure if he is going to be on special teams. He is so valuable to this team, but he says he still wants to return kicks and punts. The Dolphins will either use him or Lamike James (formerly Lamichael James.) If the Dolphins cut James, Landry will be the return man, if James is not cut I think he will handle returns. I am not positive until that happens or week 1. Yes injuries worry me, but he is so dyname I want Landry back there.

Miami's borderline 2nd string / 3rd string CB Will Davis was borderline getting cut/traded this week, and then went on to have TWO ints in 20 minutes tonight. Goes to show you just how deep their secondary is this year. He made the roster with his play tonight, hopefully he can stay healthy.

Also, Ajayi who is Miami's 2nd / 3rd string RB had a bunch of nice carries tonight. Solid 22 yard run.

This team is simply loaded. I cannot wait for week 1.

Yeah man, I actually am going with the Fins in my survivior pool. If you know me, or follow my threads from the past you know that I am a homer and love the Dolphins, but I am never very confident in a win. (How could I be with the last 15 years of mediocrity.) Really the only 2 times I was very confident in an upcoming game was week 13 two years ago when they beat the Jets 23-3, and last year when they played Oakland and won 38-14. I am just so extremely confident in this game for so many reasons which I will obviously go more into in the next few days when my book opens all betting options for week 1.

This game will not be close, it just won't. Parker is playing, Jamar Taylor is playing and it really looks like Albert is going to play week 1. If Albert plays that is just the cherry on top. Miami is literally better than the Redskins at every single position, and has one of the best D-lines vs one of the worst O-lines in football. Their defensive line honestly might get 10 sacks this game. It is going to be ugly, very ugly.

People will QUICKLY realize how talented this team is, and the board will be flooded with why did I bet on the Redskins thread. The Dolphins receiving core has gone from a Fiero to a Ferrari. They have weapons all over the field that just cannot be contained for 4 quarters. I just can't for the life of me understand how anyone could take the Redskins this week. Its either the Dolphins or no play.

On a side note it feels extremely weird to see people actually giving the Dolphins respect.

Nfl.com has them ranked the Dolphins as the 7th best team.

Yahoo.com has them ranked the Dolphins as the 9th best team.

They have realized the talent and potential of this team, when will you?
