A changing of the guard in the NFL

I looked back at the last 3 nfl drafts, and here is who teams picked by position. This is in the 1st rd only:

Defense:

DB 18

DE/Edge 12

LB 10

DT 4

Offense:

OL 21

WR 17

QB 10

RB 3

TE 1

On defense, 30 of the 44 defensive players selected in the first rd the last 3 years were players in the secondary or pass rushers.

Brian Dabol and the Giants don't have a 200 yard wr yet this year after 7 weeks. They just traded Kadarius Toney.

Crazy times.

Giants are NOT winning because of Danny Dimes...Look at their offensive numbers..they are more lucky than good and defense has been good...U can only win so many close 20-17 games for so long..Who have they blown out? No One....Biggest win is by how many points...Generally it evens out over the season...Reason why linemakers have no respect for them line wise..making them 3 point dogs vs Jags and Seahawks...last 2 weeks

 As you know, I'm a huge Bears fan and going to that game. I can't find it in me to put $ on the Bears this week, even ats. Maybe I'll get a surprise?

Look at the Jets...Look who they have beaten the opposing QB..a who's who of backups...Zach Wilson has averages less than 150 yards passing last 4 games..all wins... defense and run game

 Agree. I took the Seahawks -1.5 early, thinking about adding more.

I absolutely love how every week my giants are underdog. Not only that but every week everyone bets against them expecting to "come back to earth" Jones has 5 game winning drives in the 4th quarter this year in 8 weeks. Keep betting against us with the were not good and they will fall back to earth mentally I'll keep making money.

 Negative sir. But we should stop using the notion that there "more lucky then good" and not a good team because we're "barely" winning games. I don't even like Daniel Jones like that I think he makes so many uneccessary mistakes but the fact is for 5 out of the 8 games he marches the team down the field and gets the job done. Our defense is also very good.

 I'm fading the Giants for a few other reasons than luck, but luck is one of them

Rodgers isn't traditional

He can run or at leaast move around he is just a better passer

At the end of the day a great passser wins titles unless they have a top defense

Whetheror noit a QB can move around it is srtill elite passing that gets it done

440 yards of rushing in the Bears/Cowboys game, and the scoreboard got lit up. The Cowboys went over the total of 42.5 themselves.

The Titans completed only 6 passes, and won a football game otr, against division.

Team's combined record is 9-22.

All 4 quarterbacks are traditional pocket passers.

  agree about the decreased quality of kickers--a lot of gambling on 4th "according to the numbers"...

 One thing has nothing to do with the other.

A defense is constructed as is. Many high drafted DB's and pass rushers today. If defenses were being constructed to stop the run you'd see more DT's and fast linebackers being drafted, but that's not the case.

Then there's your theory of analytics, which is a part of the decision making process. Not sure why you called it "fake"? Teams either go for it on 4th down, or kick a fg, or punt.
