I'm going to pay $400 for a round trip to Vegas tomorrow morning. I'm leaving at 7 am will get into Vegas at 1030am. Leaving at 4 PM will get back home at 730 PM. I see a play that shows at -120 and I say its an 80% or better likelihood to hit. So that's +EV big time. I will take a cab to Bellagio and check the number. Walk across the Gondola to The Cromwell and check the number there. Obviously would make rather take a -115 than a -120 for $10,000 that makes a big difference. So I have to check the numbers and be sure to get the best price. I am going to video it and upload it to YouTube. I don't think you are supposed to, but I will make an amateur video anyway. Got plans Wednesday so I have to make it a 1 day trip. I just don't trust any online sportsbook for any real money.

Congrats on your big plans.
A couple of things....
It is surprisingly difficult to get 10k down in a single bet IF you are an unknown player at the sportsbook. If they know you, NBD. But if you just walk in off the street - it is going to take some willingness on your part with ID, SS# etc.
I suggest you break it up in to a couple (maybe 3 bets) that will not trigger a 10K CTR (google it) if you win.
10k is absolutely nothing to an online book that is a top 5 book. Bookmaker, Nitrogen, Pinnacle - I mean they wont even notice your bet. You could deposit and WD on the same day and avoid your aggravation to fly to vegas, expense etc.
If you do go to Vegas, make sure and chart out what hotels have which chain of SB. For instance, Caesars is now William Hill - and they are all over the place. You only need to see one of their lines to see them all. Also, just use vegasinsider dot com to see all books in Vegas with very up to the minute lines.
I don't suggest Bellagio as your first stop. They are not a serious book. Westgate, Caesars, MGM all better alternatives.
GL with whatever you decide. Vegas is funny.... In their eyes - 10k from one guy is something to take interest of (not known etc), but 10K to another guy (known) is like dust - they couldnt care less. It is all about their risk exposure.

With the proliferation of legalized sports betting throughout the country unless you live real close to NV, im guessing you could get down somewhere a little closer. But to each their own.

I thought the same thing also.
His flight times show a 3.5 hour flight, but it is confusing because with those flight times there is no time change. Where can you fly in the Western Time Zone 3.5 hours to get to Vegas? Do you live in Alaska or something?
This and what you say about legalized states makes me think this is bogus.
For reference.... I have bet 10k in sportsbooks that are literally a counter in tiny towns. Paradise Nevada comes to mind. But if you are anywhere near one of about 20 states that are legalized - you could make this bet a lot easier.
Im thinking that the flight times he listed (which must be fake or a mistake), combined with his unwillingness to post the play, and the ease of betting in almost half the states now - makes this a storyteller troll.

Yeah I have already done it at Caesers. They said its only once a year you have to do it. It stays on file for the rest of the year. if the best price is at bellagio (MGM) I will have to fill it out. Only takes 2-3 minutes.

Yes you are right. A few months ago, I bet 7000 on the Dodgers to win the NL West at +110. At the same time, I bet $4000 on the Braves to win NL East at +120. The Braves were actually in third place at the time behind Phillies and Mets. So I took a 2200 loss. They went APE SHIT like I was trying to bet 10 million dollars. One thing is, I told the guy I was gonna bet more and I hoped it wouldnt be more hassle next time. He told me If I was to bet another 3000 on the Dodgers or another 6000 on the Braves that will be a felony called stacking. This is where you bet several bets on the same play to avoid the 10,000 bet being all on one play. He said its a felony under RICO that he is legally required to report -- so don't do that he said.

I'm in Washington State. They just legalized tribal sports betting so soon we might have that. Nothing else will allow us to bet. Fanduel wont take bets. I dont trust online sportsbooks for $10,000. I would rather pay 350 airfare and know I will get paid.

OK- so obviously you have really done this before.
Stacking is not the correct word. It is "structuring", and making a few bets to avoid a CTR certainly is not structuring. Can you imagine the judge in your case? "Sir, your two bets on the dodgers equal structuring. And since you are a law abiding citizen, I will only give you 10 years in Rikers." Please. Those morons at the counter are only trained to repeat what they are told. And SB managers are just a step above fry chef.
Structuring is one of those "crimes" that is in place only to support a larger crime. Like Money Laundering or tax evasion. Nobody ever gets accused of structuring unless there is another crime attached - which in your case - there isnt.
Ignore what they say to you. I have bet hundreds of thousands over the counter in Vegas at one time. It is all legal and perfectly fine.

@vanzack I would never trust any online sportsbook. They are all A+ 100% trusted sportsbooks until they stop paying. How is 5 dimes doing these days ?
5Dimes paid everyone out.
The chances of you making a bet on a Sunday morning and the sportsbook shutting down by Sunday night are well worth your plane fare and running around costs.

@vanzack I have heard several complaints about people not be paid by 5 dimes but maybe they are BSing. Maybe he was wrong, but when someone says they will have to report me to the government for a felony RICO crimes, I make sure not to do it.
Look - I get it - but trust me - that statement is laughable. It really is.
He clearly knows that the average guy who hears that is going to think he is some tough guy. But there is no teeth behind it. I mean can you imagine the FBI getting a complaint that someone bet 10k in Vegas on 2 tickets? Im literally laughing out loud here. It is funny. They would do nothing except investigate this - to no avail. You arent money laundering, or evading taxes - you are simply splitting a wager.
