If you go some place with kiosks, it is pretty easy to print up as many tickets as you need for smaller amounts. My local Indian casino has kiosks with a max bet of around 1000 so you'd have to split it up. 10,000 is a lot of money, but it is not even a drop in the ocean of money being laundered across the world every day.
Good luck whatever your bet is. Hope you have a safe flight too...

Again, you guys might be right but I dont want to do anything that could cause a SAR to be filed on me. Vanzack is right, it is called structuring. I remembered the word wrong.. but I found this online as potential criminal activity in the most recent AGA.
Reasons that a casino/sportsbook should file a SAR
GAMING FLOOR ACTIVITY • Minimal gaming despite large financial transactions with the casino. • Structuring of transactions to stay at or slightly below the $10,000.00 reporting threshold for CTRs. • Placing currency in a slot machine, then cashing out after minimal or no play and redeeming the TITO ticket at a kiosk on the gaming floor (“bill stuffing”).

Like I said...
Literally everyone in every casino does this. EVERYONE!
Structuring is not a crime on its own. I would bet a lot of money that nobody has EVER been convicted of structuring on its own. It is a supportive crime. It supports RICO crimes.
I get the position you are in. Just a normal guy trying to make a bet and some dude scares the S out of you. I get it. But I am laughing here. It is not reality.
But good luck on your trip, and your wager. Hope you win.

I will mention you specifically in the video so you can fade it. Perhaps you can also make a video showing you in a sportsbook betting $10,000 on the opposite side ??? That would make for quite an interesting bet knowing that one of us will win and one of us will lose. Of course, I wont hold my breath on the video from you. Instead I will just expect complete silence when it wins, or you breaking your neck to post how you faded it the second it loses.

Dont sweat a CTR!! It is nothing! I have had a million of them. It literally tells the government (it is not a tax form) that you had 10k in cash on you. Anywhere. Like if you bought a car with cash? CTR. Go to 7-11 with 10k? CTR. They get a million of them a day, and they mean nothing on their own. THEY ARE ONLY SUPPORTIVE.
So go throw your 10k down and make your bet and let them file a CTR. Who cares.

I was flying with a stack of cash (more than yours), and I was questioned for about 20 minutes - and at the end I felt like I was lucky to not have it confiscated. They are selfishly minded, and know they can really F you up. It was only once out of about 100 times flying, but be ready in case you are questioned.

Your biggest worry should be TSA.

Obviously would make rather take a -115 than a -120 for $10,000 that makes a big difference. So I have to check the numbers and be sure to get the best price. I am going to video it and upload it to YouTube. I don't think you are supposed to, but I will make an amateur video anyway. Got plans Wednesday so I have to make it a 1 day trip. I just don't trust any online sportsbook for any real money. Congrats on your big plans. A couple of things.... It is surprisingly difficult to get 10k down in a single bet IF you are an unknown player at the sportsbook. If they know you, NBD. But if you just walk in off the street - it is going to take some willingness on your part with ID, SS# etc. I suggest you break it up in to a couple (maybe 3 bets) that will not trigger a 10K CTR (google it) if you win. 10k is absolutely nothing to an online book that is a top 5 book. Bookmaker, Nitrogen, Pinnacle - I mean they wont even notice your bet. You could deposit and WD on the same day and avoid your aggravation to fly to vegas, expense etc. If you do go to Vegas, make sure and chart out what hotels have which chain of SB. For instance, Caesars is now William Hill - and they are all over the place. You only need to see one of their lines to see them all. Also, just use vegasinsider dot com to see all books in Vegas with very up to the minute lines. I don't suggest Bellagio as your first stop. They are not a serious book. Westgate, Caesars, MGM all better alternatives. GL with whatever you decide. Vegas is funny.... In their eyes - 10k from one guy is something to take interest of (not known etc), but 10K to another guy (known) is like dust - they couldnt care less. It is all about their risk exposure.
Was going to type something similar but vanzack has you hooked up. If you can help it you don't want to make $10k for tax purposes. F the guvment.

How about flying north to south and not coast to coast, thought of that? Say, Seattle to Vegas ? But that’s 2.5 hr maximum but give him a break on exact times.

F this really happened to you? That’s such BS.. thankfully I’ve never been questioned before, but legally they have no right to do that to you. Max I’ve carried is 50K on a flight to Vegas though.
And your advice is sound on CTR.. f it. It matters zero. Fill em out, they mean nothing

We all better pray that that person Yellen/Biden don’t get their way and start monitoring bank accounts and activities.. can you imagine $600 transactions actually taxed. Not a world I’m trying to be in

I drove to Vegas in Feb of 2020 for this same reason... because I wanted to put down five figures on the Super Bowl, and I preferred doing it with a Vegas Sportsbook rather than online. I can confirm what vanzack said on Page 1... you will have problems.
The Hilton Superbook? They wouldn't take my bet.
The sportsbook at Ballys? They wouldn't take my bet.
Another book, after checking with the manager, would only take $2,000 of it.
Some of them wanted to see my "player card." Well, I didn't have a player's card and I didn't wish to get one.
And this is the freakin' SUPER BOWL! It will be even worse for you on a normal, regular season game.
I ended up having to break it up into a whole bunch of smaller bets, at several different books all over town. What a chore that turned out to be.
Note that I didn't have too much of a problem at South Point. They did take a pretty good size bet without question. I remember thinking I would have saved a LOT OF TIME if I had gone there first.
Good luck and report back as to what happened.

Great tip om South Point. They will ask if you have a players card, but you can jut say no. Up to about 3k.
Vegas is weird. Its all about KYC. If they know you, and you dont mind giving info, you can bet as much as you want.
