Interesting, my system agrees with you on Raiders and Vikings and you're the first person I've seen on both of them. Also shows Steelers and Atlanta to win but looks like a very close game.
Not sure which of these I'll be on if any, all look scary.
I was on with NinjaNight and Powercore. Didn't see their posts until after the games. I heard people going heavy NYJ and heavy ATL and heavy CHI and CLE after I got my picks in, and figured that I had blundered another week away. (I'll have an 80% week, then two 50%ers, rinse, wash repeat. Check my NFL Contest results to confirm.)
I was wondering today - sure, I was right. But one would be an idiot to always fade the sharps (and I am on the sharps' side some weeks).
Suuma is smarter than me, so just because I did better than him this week, doesn't mean that his opinion is worth less than mine. That being said, what put me past Suuma this week was: a) paying hyperattention to injuries (ex: Arizona), b) travel schedules (ex: Jets), c) motivation stemming from last week or prior games (ex: Bucs and Vikes).

Thankfully I ended up skipping Pitt and Atlanta (except for 1 long very cheap parlay), they were both very close games as expected and both happened to end up on the losing side. Pitt might have covered if Le'Veon didn't go out for most of the game though.
Ended up with small bets on Oakland and Minny (thx partially to the poster "ballinonabudget" and some other posts I read that were very well thought out). Vikings were scary close, but I'll take it and Raiders were pleasantly surprising.
Well done with the x-factors.

Congrats on skipping PIT and ATL!
Agree, the Vikes certainly gave the Bears many opportunities to win that game. Raiders' defense is causing problems for tired teams, and the Raiders' O-line isn't getting blown up like everyone thought it would (because their O-line has been getting pwned for the last decade).
Plus, there's some trend to teams not playing well in Oakland - maybe it's the crappy stadium, the hotels, the baseball field, the fans, communications issues, or some combo of all of those. But watch out when Oakland plays teams with terrific defenses, that's when you'll see them struggling - Denver, Cincy, etc. The Jets admittedly have a terrific defense, but they also just got smoked by NE and then had to fly 3,500 miles away to play another team with speedsters.
Re: TB, I saw some stat about how Famous Jameis is playing with out of his mind efficiency this season. Combine that with their defense's anger at blowing last week's lead, and that's what led to this week. That being said, their defense is so suspect, one has to wonder if they are going to keep on blowing leads later this year. That's great for the over, but not great for tight spreads.

Suuma thank you for your insite and opinion on all the games, I for one check your page every day to read what's here.....to the folks who bash.....I don't see it why they bother? My guess is its a case of sore loser syndrome . thanx for your Work Suuma.

Wow, I needed the whole Monday to overcome that brutal NFL week.
Not only that I went 1-6, but if you have followed this thread or my Twitter posts - my other leans or advice went 6-0 when I remember everything right. This is flat out ridiculous. I've never seen that before.
LOSSES recap:
Dolphins: Wrong pick, period.
Browns: they were up 21-10 going into the second half. In the third quarter Donte Whitner and Joe Haden got concussions on consecutive plays. You can't lose two Pro Bowl DBs and stop the opposing offenses when you don't have a pass rush. Cardinals won the second half 24-0 and have earned that win.
Bears: game didn't turn out as I thought it would. It was literally a coinflip in the second half. 20-20, Bears were on to lead a two-minute-drill, Jeremy Langford dropped an easy pass for a third down conversion. Bears punted, Teddy hit Charles Johnson on a deep ball, Antre Rolle stood there waiting for the interception and Johnson grabbed that pass. Please fire Rolle! Vikings covered on a FG.
Falcons: come on please. Matt Ryan 37/45 and the Falcons outgained the Bucs by 2.2 yards per play. You win 19/20 games when you outgain your opponent by 2.2 ypa - just not when losing the turnover battle 0-4. I mean you can cap interception because it has to do with the passing game but lost fumbles? Heck, no. Falcons lost the TO battle 0-4 and were still in overtime!!! I would take this bet anytime again.
Jets: Did I underestimate the spot for the Jets? Did I underestimate the Raiders? Probably something in between. Jets played terrible on D but the game was lost when Fitzpatrick left the field. He is the leader of this offense, completed his first three passes and ran for another first down. The Jets had issues running the ball against the Raiders' front seven so they needed to rely on QB play and this was just not going to happen with Geno Smith.
Staying away from covers until Thursday. That worked well after a losing week, spending more time at capping. Gonna bounce back strong. Have a good week, fellas!

Falcons F-up couple of my teasers. They moved the balls at will but just killed themselves with mistakes. Here are their 1st 5 possessions...
On first drive, 8 plays in the red zone,
including 5 inside the 7, and only only a field goal. Fumble, fumble at the Tampa Bay 9, interception, fumble at the Tampa Bay
20.
Outgained TB 496 to 290.

I feel ya on the rough weekend buddy, happens to the best.
Dont beat your self up on that MIA pick, the Pats are masters of winning the game in the first 5 minutes (set the pace, exploit the weakness and pound the advantage). The Phins lost that game the minute they couldnt get Lamar Miller going and "Brady to Gronk" eatablished itself and they couldnt get the pass rush going. I strongly beleive that the dolphins can win the rematch S/U in MIA.
The Bears...will not touch them the rest of the season. Franchise in the toilet and the team has zero motivation. Cost me $50 to learn that less. Vikings are very undervalued.
Bucs - Literally would lose that game 90% of the time. Falcons definitely overlooked this matchup.
Raiders -That D is playing with passion and they have several decent weapons on O. Again, if this game was played in neutral territory or in Jersey, Jets would have blown this one wide open (momentum is my biggest factor when reviewing a game. Very hard for road teama to establish and maintain).
Browns - We probably need to stop fading AZ. What we both thought was an over rated team...still is...but only in comparison to the love the media has given them. To me, they come off as a poor man's Patriots. They have a few standout weapons, but they've got it in their minds that they are world beaters. They can put up 3TDs and take away 3TDs in any single quarter.
Good luck with the research this week and stay up brothahman.
p.s. - Hope Carolina cashes for the both of us.

Stay disciplined suuma. You are one of the better cappers on this site hence the following you get. One bad week does not undo your good analysis of each game and your leans are usually spot on.

Not here to argue, but you really think the dolphins will beat the pats in MIA? I think i need to see them beat a halfway decent team before I would say they are going to beat the pats. I dont care if that game is played in miami, in new england, or on the friggen moon, theres no way i can see miami beating new england haha.
Just my 2 cents. My 2 cents dont mean anything, but the pats are just too good.

Take the time, you'll be back and stronger than ever. Crazy week, you can't cap injuries. Like you said, Cleveland losing their two probowlers against AZ of all teams and it was destined to lose from that point. I felt the pain on that game also along with Pitt losing Bell. Look forward to your return.

You will bounce back for sure, I had a tough year myself, but from my year of experience, I say let the teasers go, just the cap the game it self. Look forward to your write for week #9.

Brilliant. I don't suppose we'll ever know if you win or lose, because no one knows what the hell you're talking about.

huh??...do you even understand wats going on here??im not gloating,i dont even have a frickin opinion on the game......the guy basically said it(steelers) was a certifiable lock to win with absolutely no logical, rational reasoning watsoever...so he didnt discuss nor debate the game at all...none of us hate on the guy for getting the game wrong, thats fine.obviously we all get plenty wrong.....the objection people have to the guy is the bizarre way in which he conducts himself, talking down to suuma like he has sum mystical knowledge that he can teach him wen,in reality, they are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to picking games....and fade-or-die is definitely not at the end he thinks he's at....dude mite well be the biggest mush on the site.....and my god, that really is a mouthful.
its not just this thread,he pokes his nose in every one of scalabrine,st2ee,league-capper threads telling them how clueless they are also.....and all those guys at one time or another have posted piles of winners....whilst our friend "fade or die" is batting less than 0.005 lifetime at a guess.

Suuma buddy I equate a losing week to a bad round of golf. You can be the best player in the world, and still have an awful day or week. Does not mean you are not still the best buddy
