Thanks, gentlemen. Appreciate it. Not satisfied with 6-3 though.
Five games worked out exactly like I thought them to be. On the other four:
The Saints defense is still flat out horrible with those injuries and I overestimated their front seven. The offense was 1 of 4 in the red zone and I saw not only one dropped pass. They can do much better. Still not drinking the Cardinals kool-aid.
Dolphins – a win is a win but this game didn’t play out like I wanted it to be. The Fins couldn’t defend the run. But at the end think about that fact: the Dolphins played a bad game, still won, covered, and held their opponent to 10 points on the road.
Chiefs/Texans – Come on you Houston Texans! How can you defend that badly in the first half? There were 8 points scored in the second half which tells us how this game was supposed to play out. Terrible blown coverage on Kelce made the lone difference at the end. Would play this under again like I said before.
Cowboys – Come on. I didn’t watch the game because I went to bed, but just saw the box score in the morning. 2 INT, fumble recovery TD, Dez Bryant sidelined and the Cowboys still won, outgaining the Giants by 2 yards per play. I will need to watch that game this week but I would guess that Giants bettors needed a healthy dose of those circumstances to get the win.
@Hawky: Nice to see you coming back, didn’t think you would. You got some backbone!
Now let’s move on to week 2! Sitting out MNF.

BB, the Raiders just had a terrible matchup against the Bengals. They will have a better one against the Ravens if Derek Carr is healthy. I like the signing of Aldon Smith.
Overreaction Monday - I guess the Browns are favorites because they have a good defense and a solid home field advantage and it’s going to be a completely different matchup for Marcus Mariota and Johnny Manziel. The Jets defense is a different caliber than the Titans one. Johnny Manziel was throwing into tight coverage yesterday and he was only effective when getting help by the Jets. Cromartie got injured and then got terribly beat by Travis Benjamin on the 50-yd TD throw on 3rddown. Another throw was a crazy 3rd and 19 conversion. Manziel was almost sacked, threw the ball vertical and Hawkins caught the ball one-handed while kneeing on the ground and Revis behind him. The Browns will go from a top-5 defense to a bottom-10 one (IMO).
The Rams are the real deal, period. They will suffer from their offensive line here and there throughout the season, but yesterday was a first taste of what this team can do. They lost 3 fumbles and still won. The difference is: The Rams scored three TDs on 80-yd+ drives. They were simply moving the chains. The Seahawks were able to have only one full successful drive and that was on 63 yards. They had a punt return TD, a fumble return TD (nice blind side blitz though) and two FGs off fumbles. That’s 20 points off turnovers or good field positions. They simply can’t score on the Rams by themselves. I have the wk 4 game Rams at Arizona circled.
Peyton Manning looked horrible from under center and this offensive line has a long way to go. 4 sacks & 8 tackles for loss. They match up badly with the Chiefs’ pass rush but the Chiefs also match up badly with the Broncos’ pass rush. Cannot wait to watch the Chiefs/Texans game on tape.

No strong lean on either game. I like the Falcons to win, because it’s the Eagles against Dan Quinn. I really liked what I saw from the Falcons defense in the pre-season. Nice cover-3 zone defense. They got only beaten on one play by the Dolphins, was a perfectly executed pass to Landry between the zones. The Eagles’ secondary looks garbage and I expect Matt Ryan to exploit them on a few drives. But like I said, not enough to make it a play and don’t want to get beat by underestimating the Eagles. Will rather sit out and watch the game on tape.
Vikings/Niners game is stupid. Niners playing with a chip on their shoulder, seem to blitz a lot and Vikings’ offensive line is a bit questionable. John Sullivan is injured and we don’t know how Matt Kalil comes back. Won’t touch it.
