God that was awful for the 9ers..and I didn't care who won.
Is what it is...good luck next season fellas.
Hard racket to be good at, you need the breaks....the better team was San fran, the better coach and quarterback by far was at KC...stating the obvious...that was the difference.

It was the 80's. My family had just immigrated to the States. I was sitting on the living room floor of our one bedroom apartment in Southern California flipping through channels on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Some caught my attention. I was mesmerized. It was American Football. Something I had seen often but never paid much attention to because I was raised on soccer and basketball. But this game was different than any I had seen before. One team, the Niners, looked like ballerinas in pads, gracefully moving in unison, as if they were one body performing an intricate dance to a melody only they could hear, while their opponents, the Rams, all disjointed, moved as if traversing through mud, battling gravity itself to get from point A to point B. I had no idea who Bill Walsh or Joe Montana were on that day, but my young mind somehow recognized the genius that was responsible for transforming the game of football, a brutish game played by brutish men, into an art as sublime as any I had seen. Despite all the praise heaped upon Bellecheat over the years, I had not seen genius like this, or been mesmerized by the game of football, until a year ago, when the Niners lost Jimmy G for the season and Shanahan was forced to use all his wiles and wits to keep the team competitive. That is when I began seeing a brand of football I had never seen before: one which relied on movement, precision, timing, and camelflage to not just unleash, but magnify and accentuate, the raw power and speed of the players executing the plays. It was, and is, a sight to behold. There are very few coaches in the history of the game that have transformed the way the game is played: Kyle Shanahan is one of them.

Of course, people will argue that despite all his shortcomings fat Andy still has the best player on the field, and perhaps, when all is said and done, one of the best ever to play the position of QB. But having the best QB, even a future legend for that matter, does not guarantee a Super Bowl win. In fact, the big game is littered with all-time-greats who came up short: Elway, Kelly, Brady, Manning, Marino, Favre, and the list goes on. Yes, there is always the possibility that Mahomes will make an incredible play or two that would demoralize most teams. But this Niners team is not like most teams. They are made in the image of their coach: tough, smart, resilient and indomitable.
Finally, when comparing these two coaches (fat Andy and skinny Kyle) and watching their demeanor on the sidelines, I'm reminded of Caesar's famous speech from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar:
Caesar:
Let me have men about me that are fat,
Sleek-headed men and such as sleep a-nights.
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look,
He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.
He reads much.
He is a great observer, and he looks
Quite through the deeds of men. He loves no plays,
As thou dost, Antony. He hears no music.
Seldom he smiles, and smiles in such a sort
As if he mocked himself and scorned his spirit.
Indeed, if young Shanahan is as dangerous a man as Cassius was to Caesar, then he will go home with the Lombardi Trophy on SB Sunday.
Niners +1.5 for 10 units

BB, Franco Harris used to say that the 3rd quarter is all well and good but it is the 4th quarter where the games are decided.
The better team came up big in the latter half of the 4th quarter (7 minutes and change)...the KC Chiefs made plays on O and D against the SF 49ers...end of story. Being lucky had nothing to do with it.
You dwell on what part luck played in the game BB but here is another quote for you(Cassius speaking to Brutus) in that same Shakespearean play that you referenced and that you might ponder:
"The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars/ But in ourselves, that we are underlings."

I have had zero luck in the NBA. It was a disgusting display by the Lakers. Lesser Laker teams, teams with losing records, have won and covered when honoring the dead; Jerry Buss, Chick Hearn, etc. Of course, Kobe was involved in those games, and unlike LBJ he is a killer. It’s unfathomable to me that they lost to a one-man-team in the Blazers. In the process they made Whiteside look like the second coming of Scott Wedman, who went 11-11 in the Finals against LA in 1985. Whiteside was 13-14. Simply incredible. Lakers had 60 rebounds to the Blazers 40. They had 18 offensive rebounds but could not do anything right as they turned the ball over 18 times. I really do blame LBJ. He simply choked as he usually does in the spotlight. The bench players, seeing him choke, choked as well. Only Davis showed up. The coach also blew it with his stupid rotations. Said he wanted to give everyone an opportunity to contribute. Well, you should only do that when leading, not with the game in balance. Contrast that with last night when lbj played 10 first quarter minutes and Davis 12! They got the lead and never looked back.
Anyway, I lost a ton as well and if the Niners lose today you may not hear from for a long, long time. But, I’ll leave you with this. Every f u k I n time I backed an NBA team this year and that team lost (think NO) they went on a nice streak soon after. The Lakers will not lose another game until the all-star break. I guarantee it. They are playing Western foes and will win all those games by dd. Most teams let down near the all star break but the Lakers, because of Bryant’s death, will pick it up. Basketball will be their salvation for the next couple of weeks. And they will head into the all star-break on winning note, demolishing their opponents along the way. Next opponent, Spurs on a back to back in a tnt game. Then the Rockets on Thursday in another tnt again. And on and on until they finish in Denver in big revenge spot.

Historic collapse yes.... lucky no. You made the same mistake most Niners bettors did, proof is all over this forum. You doubted Reid in favor of Kyle when Kyle has given you just as much reason to doubt him as Reid (arguably more). You bet against Mahomes when he has proven time and time again that he and his team are never out of a game. You took Kyle & Jimmy over Andy and Pat plain and simple. Chiefs backers did not get lucky, they were just fortunate they were going up against Kyle and Jimmy G come crunch time. One of these twosomes has shown they have what it takes and the other has not. You went with the twosome who has shown nothing. Substitute Bill and Tom in place of Kyle and Jimmy, you think the Chiefs win? No they very well likely don't because Bill wouldn't do what Kyle did and Tom doesn't wilt like a flower with the game on the line.

It wasn't proven , it was acted out.
The logical mind knows it's impossible to keep coming back from deficits. It's mathematically impossible quite frankly.
The Niners simply laid the fuck down for 6 minutes.
Yeah, right? A coach that did nothing but run in the previous game ,decides to pass in this one ? After already knowing the mistake he made in SB 51?
These guys are paid a million bucks whether they win or lose. And after losing are still constantly rehired. Apparently they are doing exactly what they are supposed to.
