these last two weeks, motivation is obviously a huge issue. getting the newsletter out early with this information:
dallas plays washington sunday afternoon. if dallas wins, and i suspect they will, philly's sunday night game with chicago is meaningless to philly (although obviously important to chicago). first, dallas may not beat washington but they should. second, you never know how coaches approach this and i have no idea how kelly would. some coaches rest players to get them ready for the huge game next week against dallas that will decide the division. this is what i'd guess kelly would do. other coaches would play hard coming off a terrible loss to get some momentum going into the final week.

yeah, no doubt washington plays hard but as often as i bet on the new qb in his first game, i tend to fade him in the second game if the first is a win (ats). plus, washington is terrible. dallas has issues but i think washington's are worse.

Skins will play Dallas as if it is their SB, that you can be sure of.
I think it's fair to say that Washington's offensive capabilities are at least as good as Green Bay's sans Rodgers. But the Shanahan kid is unlikely to take advantage of his own team's strengths and their defense won't hold up.

The Jets have beaten the Patriots, Saints, and Raiders in 3 of their last 4 home games. Cleveland, which we knew would be bad, has probably emptied their ammunition in game but losing efforts for the past 2 weeks.
Chicago goes to Philly on Sunday night. We think they're basically the same team in different colored uniforms. But other than last weeks fiasco in Minnesota, the Eagles have been a much better football team in the 2nd half of the season. Regardless of what Dallas does earlier, I like the Eagles here. The Bears play GB in the final week and that decides the division anyways. They're in no better shape than Philly.
Jacksonville is as beaten down physically as anyone in the league right now. Tennessee should have this game circled after giving the Jags their first win of the year on their own field in week 9.
Carolina with a nice chance to win the NFC South in a payback game with the Saints. The Panthers are having a nice season, but they are flawed. I'm not one of those who automatically discounts New Orleans on the road, so I can't see a play on that one. Maybe even a reverse psycho play on the Saints if anything.
Quite interested in Tampa. The Rams may have played their last statement game vs. NO last week, winning although not surprisingly outgained by 130 yards for the game. Unlike you, I'm not a Jeff Fisher fan at all. All things considered, the wrong team may be favored.

I'm probably out of line here, but Seattle "losing" to Arizona this week might benefit them down the stretch. Who knows how things play out but I'm sure they would rather not have to deal with San Francisco again. Maybe they don't go all out at least.

So I watched a video clip of Manning's 5 INT outing vs. the Seahawks last week. Except for #3, which was a Hail Mary at the end of the 1st half, every ball was properly thrown into single coverage with an opportunity for the receiver to make a catch. But every time, it was the defensive back who made an aggressive play on the ball while the Giants guy gives up on it. Nicks and Cruz should be ashamed of themselves for allowing the media to hammer on Eli, when in fact it was their own piss poor lazy play which made him look bad. Here's the quick video, tell me if I'm wrong :

I agree with you in part ... INT #4 was thrown behind the receiver running a crossing pattern ... bad throw.
The only throw which was really good was the 5th INT.
Picks #1 and 2 were just great coverage, and the throws were just ok

well, the formula of going against the saints on the road and with them at home has been solid. hard to imagine the saints can win this one. actually thought we might see 3.5 or 4 but 3 makes sense too.
be back tonight or tomorrow.
no thursday night game, what's that all about?

thaddeus lewis starting for buffalo. buffalo will almost certainly be a play but i'll wait to see if this qb change moves the line to 3 or more. if anything it should move the line closer to even but i'm guessing most people don't see it that way.

Josh Gordon will shred that porous Jet secondary and win that game singlehandedly. 15+ catches, 200+ yds and 3 TDsis not out of the realm of possibility.
Let's go Darwin

The Browns are 1-6 in games that Gordon had over 100 receiving yards, 0-2 when he went over 200. Obviously, he can't single handedly win a game. Thanks for playing. Next contestant please.
