i do find this thread quite funny that the people who wouldnt know

a fact if it smacked them in the face are claiming i cut and run and

dont back up my statements- that is way funny

so i come home from a charity golf tournament on saturday and

start to post some replys to my little friends when my wife comes

to me with my suitcases and tells me she has a surprise for me

5 days and 4 nights at an out of away retreat just me and her

imagine my dilemna- go and spend this quality time with my wife

or engage in the drivel that guys like mets-koaj-slim and ab have

to offer

as you can see spending the time with my wife than dealing with

guys who have an iq of a peanut wasnt that difficult

and mets as i have stated before unlike yourself when spending

time with my family i am not that sad of a person that i need to

break away and post on a sports forum like you have to do- that

was one of the saddest things i have ever seen that a man when

on holiday with his family needs to take time away to post here

pretty damn sad

ab have you ever gone to this church to come up with the

conclusion that is a radical/racist church?

if you havent gone to the church and witness for yourself what

they do and are simply watching 2 minute tidbits on tv of what

wright stated then you may want to actually find out all the truth

such as listen to all of the sermons and not just a 2 minute sound

bite- you also may want to find out what was said and done in this

church under wright for the other 35-40 years

as i have said to you before my father has always been my hero

the man i most respect a man i tried to model myself after but

my father is also pro union and pro catholic church- and i am

neither and actually against both- intelligent people can come up

with their own thoughts and opinions on life now if you are told

how to feel or who to like then that says more about you than

anything else

Sarasota Slim and I use to just brutalize him with facts and knowledge over in the politics forum, where he finally just gave up, or stooped to name calling and accusations.

In this thread he's actually made the argument more than once that Obama's not an anti-war candidate.  There's simply no debating someone that will not concede to any points.  He talks about facts but politics is rarely decided on facts.  It's ideas and concepts.  Facts are obviously useful but what is a "fact"? 

 

We can debate issues and character all day but MTA would rather sit in his ivory tower and take cheap shots at posters and candidates.   He posts Obama quotes and campaign slogans and thinks he holds some sort of higher ground if you don't respond with a quote or "fact" to contradict him.

 

Bottom line is if you;ve "LISTENED" to both candidates speak, certainly neither has been consistent but Obama has drastically shifted from his anti-war base to this new middle ground where he wants to finsish the job in Afghanistan.  I'm pretty sure that's what McCain has been saying. 

 

Let's get out of Iraq but not cut and run.  Obama initially wanted to cut and run.  In his grand speeches he touted that he would start removing troops on day one and that was long before the surge was successful and Iraq was considered a disaster by most experts.  We don't hear that same banter anymore from Obama.

 

Obamas new favorite line is that there was an awakening by the sunnis that has improved the conditions in Iraq.  But how could there have ever been an any awakening if we didn't remove Hussein?

MTA, I'm not religious but i've attended churches and temples.  NEVER have I heard the that type of hate rhetoric spewed in any religious forum...

It's really quite sad that you can't concede the point that Obama has 20 year ties to a church that openly preaches an anti-white agenda... We saw tapes of what was said about Hilalry Clinton by father Phlegler... These are facts cause all of America has seen them with their own eyes...

So again please explain to my why Obama was associated with this church and why he denied knowing that this type hate speech was a part of his chruch experience...

In regards to Obama being an anti war candidate... you're not worth talking to if you're unwilling to accept the fact that Obama ran as far left as possible during the primaries.  He's only shifted toward the center since he's clinched the nomination...

His mantra was leave Iraq ASAP, Iraq was a faliure and we need to leave, this is just common knowledge... you know better... 

Cut and run was his go to line during the primaries... Stop being foolish...

church to hear what is being preached? have you ever listened

to all those little snippets that were played or simply listened to

what you heard on tv? maybe you should try listening or reading to

all of the sermon before those little tidbits were taken from

you are taking a grand total of 10 minutes to make a determination

on a church that you have never attended- never witnessed what

they preach or what they do in the community- and this is 10

minutes of a preacher who preached there for 35-40 years doing

probably 3 or 4 sermons a week and countless hours of private

study

again my father has always been my hero but i am still against

unions and the catholic church even though he is devoted to both

i have enough intelligence to make up my own mind

making determinations based on 10 minutes out of 35-40 years

ever stated he was anti war? he has stated quite clearly he is

anti iraq and pro afghanistan- i am also anti iraq and pro

anti war is just that against all wars- obama has been quite

consistent from the beginning iraq was a mistake when he

becomes potus one of his first goals is to start the pullout from

iraq and start putting more resources back in afghanastan

you cant be this brain deficient can you? at the beginning of the

primaries his position was getting out of iraq- middle of the

primaries his position was getting out of iraq- now his position

is get out of iraq- but getting out of iraq does not make one

anti war especially when he has stated more resources under

his administration would be put back into afghanistan- remember

those people the ones who are still hiding there and in pakistan

that actually were the cause of 911 and the real threat to our

national security
