you did not get boxed because of your stance scal. you may feel that way, but you didn't. you got boxed because of your almost laser like insistence on pressing your stance, over and over. and it would be one thing if you ever committed to an actual, reasonable debate. but anyone who tried, would immediately get the racist or privileged label. it's a losing proposition to debate you and those that can't handle lose their temper. this is why you got boxed. your white male agenda on covers premise is simply an excuse.

Nobody was saying covers should control a niche population. What was being said was that the dominant group of this site was white males and therefore their interests and perspectives will be served.
When someone like myself bring up a 'sensitive' topic like racism among this group, it is met with outrage and censorship. And as far as SJP goes, we all suspect 'she' is unlikely to be a female. Even with the chance she is a female, she has been met with more misogyny than 'fervor.'
And your comment about white owned businesses is quite flippant and requires much more analysis than whether you or your two partners are white or black.
I would say the answer to your question is that white-owned businesses on the whole aren't intrinsically racist, they are flat-out racist.
Contrary to what many on this site would like to believe or know, there are studies and statistics to back up this claim.
Legal scholars Alfred and Ruth Blumrosen conducted a study in 1999 of 10's of thousands of businesses and found at least one third discriminate regularly against black applicants, and at least 1.3 million blacks will face racial bias during their job search during their lifetime. (This is easily referenced through google but I will provide citations if you refuse to believe the claims in the previous paragraph).
So you may think it's fine to nonchalantly dismiss business to be white owned because they simply make up more of the population, but when examined further those white owned business are playing THE primary role in exacerbating inequity of opportunity for blacks with regards to job opportunity.
How can I make such a unsupported claim? Get comfy because it's fully supported.
#1 Black high school graduates have higher unemployment rates than white dropouts. (US Bureau of the Census, The National Data Book Page p.399).
#2 White men with college degrees earn 33% more than blacks with the same educational backgrounds. This controls for education. (p. 144 of the previous book).
#3 White males with a CRIMINAL RECORD are more likely than black males WITH NO CRIMINAL RECORD AT ALL to get a callback for a job interview even when CONTROLLING FOR (and this is key because this is an excuse MANY I have spoken with have used for the bias), credentials, experience, demeanor, communication and dress style. (Study performed by Princeton sociology professor Devah Pager which you can google).
It seems to me, with a mere four citations, a black male (or female) about to enter the workforce would not only be discouraged from applying at a primarily white owned businesses for a position that had status and credibility and significant income, but would more or less find it meaningless since the probability of the hire would seem extremely low, if even possible.
Are blacks being hired in these positions somewhere? SURE. But the barriers to discrimination for the overwhelming majority of black job applicants are evident. And it comes not from active malice toward blacks, but a general indoctrinated superior/inferior hierarchy of whites first/blacks last biased thinking that can occur in a white individual from as early as preschool.
THESE are the very jobs whites claim are necessary for the 'black community' to pull themselves up 'by their bootstraps' and make something of themselves, that is, have a steady income to be autonomous and raise a family (which they claim is on the white dime already).
Well, when white employers are discriminating like this (and much worse actually in what I haven't quoted), tell me Jay, how the hell are blacks supposed to get meaningful employment positions from white business owners who allegedly are not racist, when in reality, they are exactly that...
